Everybody Needs a Little Snark

I want to take a minute or two to shamelessly plug Snark Forums. Firstly because Snark is 3 years old in March, and we’re having lots of fun activities — organised by the members — to celebrate: Snark does the Ickies, Snark Art Worm, 31 Featured Members and more (as of yet unannounced). And secondly,… read full entry »

Favourite Habari Plugins

One of my favourite things about Habari is the fact that it’s super lightweight (unlike WordPress which ultimately serves hundreds of bytes of old code that powers functionality I don’t use). As such, anything beyond the basic blog — write, read, comment — requires a plugin, enabling me to have total control over my site…. read full entry »

Made this weeks ago

Got bored a few weeks ago so put this together. Have nothing deep and meaningful to say about it, which is lucky because typing one-handed takes forever. :p Mind you, I can’t remember the last time I had two hands free for typing. With that said, I’ve not tested it in anything other than Firefox… read full entry »

Never buy a car from Dream Car Sales, Telford

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Dream Car Sales are now Redland Car Sales At the end of October last year, I wrote an entry in which I mentioned a local car dealer: Dream Car Sales, Telford. We bought a car from Dream Car Sales to tide us over while ours was undergoing repair because I was heavily pregnant… read full entry »

Letter to Fisher Price

I wasn’t going to post this, but it was requested. To whom it may concern, I have recently become aware of a page on your website titled “Breast or Bottlefeed? How to Decide” (URL: http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?st=665&e=expertadvice&catparcode=ps_nttfd&ccat=PS_NttFeeding&content=38918 ) I think this page unfairly represents the choice between breastmilk or formula. The only positive aspect to breastfeeding you… read full entry »

The Politics of Parenting

Gina Ford — so-called “parenting guru” — has lashed out at UK Lib Dem party leader Nick Clegg after he hit out at her parenting manual. Ford, an unqualified former maternity nurse questioned Clegg’s maturity (ironic, given her lawsuit against mumsnet after mums shared a few views of their own) because of his comparison of… read full entry »

Betraying Myself

I’ve had something to blog about several days in a row since new year, and each time I’ve decided against publishing because at the back of my head is a little voice telling me “some readers won’t like that”. And so I delete my entry and go back to hiding in a private blog. I… read full entry »

Happy Sappy Birthday to Me!

Just wanted to thank everyone who e-mailed, texted, tweeted and facebooked me birthday messages, as well as those who left messages on Snark with cute cake piccies in. My mum bought me a giant french fancy cake with over 3600 calories in, and Karl bought me a lovely bunch of flowers. Lovely jubbly!

A New Decade

It would be superfluous to call the last decade “life-changing”, given that I was 13 at the beginning of it. Nonetheless, there is no other way to describe it. I lost my brother and my Nan within 2 weeks of each other, met Karl, left school, gained a niece and nephew, completed college, got my… read full entry »

Merry Christmas, Interwebs!

I just wanted to quickly post to wish you all a merry christmas 2009, may it be full of fun, frivolity and fat stuffed turkey. Unless you’re a vegetarian of course. I hope Santa brings you all what you asked for. On that note, I’ll end with… Twas the blog post before christmas, And throughout… read full entry »
