Project: Feeding Friendly
While I was on maternity leave in 2009-2010 I had an idea for a website / mobile phone app… a central location for feeding and changing facility reviews/ratings across the UK. There was nothing else like it available, and parents (especially breastfeeding mums I came into contact with) were desperate for accurate info on things… read full entry »
First World Problems
I want to tell you all about my amazing daughter and how at 20 months she can already count to 15, identify several colours, name all of her body parts (including her “bits” – her words) and talk the hind leg off a donkey but I want to balance that with the guilt I feel… read full entry »
Oooh, what does this button do?
You mean if I type jizz in here and press the Publish button it appears on my website? Clever, that’s like one of those blog thingies. Aren’t they supposed to be updated regularly? Oh wait… (This is my sarcastic way of casually mentioning that I’m not dead.)
Making Baby v2?
If you’re following me on twitter or facepoop you’ve probably seen my recent posts about my new nephew, baby Jack. “Unfortunately” this has thrown an already very broody me into the deep end of omg-another-baby thoughts. Breastfeeding and Feminism
After having Isabel I became fascinated with breastfeeding. The whole thing is a pretty amazing process, and some of the components of breast milk are beyond compare. However, I soon discovered articles from “feminists” arguing that birth, breastfeeding and the associated period of fairly intense parenting that a newborn requires are oppressing; career crushing even…. read full entry »
Losing Weight
During Isabel’s early months I was dropping weight like nobody’s business – breastfeeding, yay! – and was having to eat like crazy so as not to die of starvation (slight exaggeration). Obviously now Isabel is very nearly 20 months old she’s feeding maybe 2-3 times a day (as opposed to every hour, ha) and so… read full entry »
Good news – I’m sat on Amelie
My new sofa, held up for a fortnight or so by incompetent muppets at Homebase (Argos), finally arrived at 8:20 this morning. Wahey!
Do Not Buy Furniture From Homebase
On the 22nd May I bought a sofa from Homebase on the Wellington Retail Park in Telford. We were told in store to expect a phone call within 5 days regarding delivery. We didn’t get a phone call. On the 3rd June (the day we got the keys) I rang Homebase to inform them that… read full entry »
