Last Minute Holiday

It was decided at about 9pm last Thursday that a short holiday was in order, last minute booking of a family style resort in Wales ensued. Date to leave? The morning after! Nothing like forward planning… ;)

Isabel seemed to enjoy herself, and got to experience lots of firsts. First holiday, first swim, first beach trip, first taste of Grandma Rowland’s scary holiday driving! Still, she took to the disruption to her normal everyday ‘routine’ remarkably well and impressed an elderly lady in a cafe at Portmeirion with the very grown-up way in which she was eating her sandwich. Smug? Me? Never!

Shame it was only a 3-nighter, although any longer and I don’t think the pets would have forgiven us!

If you’re interested, you can see the sights we saw via my dodgy (that’s dodgy as in crap, not dodgy as in pornographic) photos in the Wales set on Flickr.

I’m a fan of the unicorn worshiping graphic. Looks like a fun trip. (:

We did the same last minute booking arrangements, only ended up in South Wales at Carmarthen Bay. It didn’t look nearly as nice as where you went though.

Hope you all had a good time there. :)

Aww, that’s awesome! I hate planning or scheduling, that’s my kind of vacation! Did she enjoy the water? :))

Looking at the rain pouring down outside my window today I think you picked the perfect time to sneak off for a mini break when you did. I’m glad everything went well, it can be really stressful taking small people on holidays but of course lil miss Isabel took that in her stride as she does everything she comes across.

Love the pics you took, what a fascinating place Portmeirion is, especially for Karl to see close up (bet that took him back a few years too!) I half expected to see giant white weather balloons bouncing around everywhere in them.

Grandma Rowlands’ driving can’t be that bad, you are after all still in one piece ;) hope she enjoyed the break as much as you all have.

My marmalade is yummy :) Welcome home X

Judging by your Flickr photos, Wales is such a beautiful place!
