X Factor

I have to admit — rather grudgingly — that I watch the X Factor. I can’t stand the arsing about at the end and the “TEXT A B or C to VOTE” bollocks, but the auditions are a supply of hilarity.

The contestants are usually pig-ugly (no offence Emily, your pig is cute) and have absolutely no talent. They’re so wrapped up in themselves that they completely fail to notice that they’re making a twat of themselves — this is where the humour comes in.

I love when people make idiots of themselves. I love that there’s this huge group of people who get turned down and then turn around and say “what do they know!?!!” <-- insert crying, sobbing, stomping, swearing. Of course.. the judges made their millions because of complete luck and fluke. *head meet desk* Heehee. Shame, the auditions finish today. No more idiocy until next year!

Oh, my God. The people who were like “I have the X Factor!” and then when they get the “no” they’re like “You made a big mistake, i’ll proove it to you – just you watch.” etc. Although, there were some really good ones!

X Factor? Is that some American Idol-like show or something? God, I hate those shows to death… Only value they provide to us is a good laugh at all the contestant’s pure idiocy and patheticness (yes, I know that’s not a word, but I can’t think of anything else)… Wow, we really need some good TV shows to get rid of all this utter crap…

: P I don’t know what the X Factor is but it sounds similar to shows I have seen, most notably American Idol (which I went to auditions for). I know that I have seen a LOT of people audition for Idol that were rejected and I honestly loved listening to them sing… when I went there was this very, very overweight girl with flaming red hair paper-white skin and freckles who stayed up through the night singing and entertaining the news cameras and getting applause from all of the other eager singers and she was dismissed on her FIRST audition, despite the fact that people were applauding immediately after. Other people stunk and received two auditions after being TOLD that they didn’t do anything right but were going to be given another chance. Things like this don’t make the air ~shrugs. On Idol they claim it’s not about image and honestly sometimes it doesn’t seem to be but the girl wasn’t going to lose 200 pounds in four months so they didn’t have much hope for changing her image. Some of it overly annoys me and I wonder – if I hate these shows so much do I secretly like them?! : P I’ve stopped watching them altogether though, mostly they just got on my nerves.

Echo, ah, there was a girl (Michelle I think) who won Pop Idol 2 and she was as you would call it “overweight” she even debated with the judges when they said she had the voice but not the body.

The judges of American Idol wouldn’t recognise talent if it danced naked in front of them and slapped them in the face. I don’t imagine that the X Factor would be much different.

… you can continue with the Golden Stag music festival. I keep wondering why people BELIVE they are able to sing (my ears ring – in a bad way). Plus the end is so… *sob* corny. When they all cry out in various deformed ways of the Romanian laguage “Multumesc” (thank you).

“I love that there’s this huge group of people who get turned down and then turn around and say “what do they know!?!!”” Hee. I see a lot of that on shows such as American Idol and Singapore Idol too, where the rejected contestants make remarks such as “they don’t recognise talent!” our of sheer sour-ness. :P

I’m afraid I’ve been suckered into watching X-Factor, too. The blind faith and conviction amazes me – me being someone who needs to be told 02349802934 times that she’s doing something half-decently. I can’t imagine what my life would be like if I liked it with that degree of self-conviction and determination. V xx

I wont be watching it now that the auditions are over. That was the bestestest part! I cant stand all the seriousness and sucking up the contestants do to each other. “Oh, you’re so beautiful darling and your singing was glorious. I can’t believe they wont let you through to the 3rd round….*turns around* I’m through though aren’t I? Yeah? *turns back* Oh poor darling…” etc, etc. I thought about that way too much…

Gutted, I only got to see one set of auditions. Some people are so desperate. I can’t believe how some of them don’t realise they’re awful. Did you see the 30 year-old last week who thought he was Michael Jackson? Get over yourself, man!

Hehe. Yeah, I always laugh at the X Factor and other such programmes. I mean, I KNOW I can’t sing… Can’t people hear themselves? Don’t people tell them they’re not that good BEFORE they humiliate themselves? Ahh well…

    Nikki-ann: That’s why they have judges. :P

Jordie: she meant before they go on the show.. as in, don’t their families/friends tell them they sound like shit.

People quit their jobs to audition for becoming a singer and then they fail. I find it hard to believe they generally think that they have a singing talent…

I totally agree, but I’ve definatly gone off it since the auditions stopped. I think there should be a programme where its JUST auditions! I’m glad I’ve found a blogger person from england, who talks about english things, all the ones I’ve seen are usually american, and the talk about american things which in have nooo idea about! *hehe*.
