Nice Parking, Madame

Picture the scene: my brother and I on our way up to the local McDonalds being driven by my lovely Mummy. We get to the turn in for the drive-through and a red Peugeot is blocking the road. Realising we’re trying to pull in behind her, she pulls forward and goes through the drive-through, stopping and starting every yard but eventually she completes her transaction, and pulls off into a parking bay.

bad parking

Note that the car is at a 45 degree angle to the parking bay marking. Now that’s some nice parking right there.

Don’t you just love it when that happens? I do! Especially when they take up two spaces! -_-

My aunt’s parking is worse, she just got her license (”you’re not too old, you know”) and she just can’t U-turn xD

Wow. That’s pretty sad. I wonder if she normally sucks that much at driving. (PS. Parking bay? Do most Brits call them that? We usually call them parking places.)

    @Aimee: parking bay/parking space, usually.

Well, I could laugh, but I can’t drive at all. :P And when we go on bumper cars/ go-karts, etc. I am AWFUL at steering. So, I would probably park the same way. Especially, if I was starving (which, obviously, I would be if I was at McDonalds…).

It’s just like the numbnut boy racer who lives near by. He thinks it’s so uber coolies and hardcore to park his monstrosity of a car in two bays. Not just bad parking, he literally parks over the two horizontally. I hate my area. I almost got ran over by some twat coming out of that McDonalds drive-through once. He must have thought it was amusing because he shouted something and laughed. I swear most people need to retake their driving tests.

That’s not too bad…you’ve seen me drop the Astra with each wheel in a different space! Stuart has seen me park with only 3 wheels on the ground too. I long ago reached the conclusion: You want my car moved, YOU move it.

Sometimes, just sometimes, when I hear of things like this I believe my father when he goes on a “women drivers” rant. :P

Further affirmation that women can’t drive. Although the lucky motorist that nearly killed me today was a greasy man with a cheap looking sporty car. Note to self: install gun turret on car.

When I look out the window from my group therapy, I’m guaranteed to see people parked behind the line of cars. Hard to explain, so I made a lovely little graphic. http://tinyurl.com/2e68qn (it’s on image shack but, of course, the URL is too long)

That’s not that bad; I’ve seen far worse (although I can’t talk since I’m still learning how to drive). At least she isn’t straddling two parking spaces…

I’ve parked there before and I’m failing to decipher how she managed to park *that* diagonally. Maybe she was planning on straightening her car at the KFC car park :D. Despite what I say that is parking at it’s best :P.

Gahhh I hope I don’t park like that when I take my driving lessons, I’m only seventeen on August so I’ve got a long wait till I can start practising how to drive. Have you been on this website? http://www.addictinggames.com/parkmycar.html

Yes it often amuses me when people are having driving issues. Happens often in the city I live in currently. It’s a college town and I had heard rumors that college kids suck at driving, but I didn’t believe it until one rear ended me in a parking lot. Yay.

Wow, I never seen anyone park like that before. :O The comments about cars taking up two parking spaces made me laugh a little. I mean, I can understand it if you’re over the line a little, but how do you accidentally take up two spaces? Especially when your vehicle is right smack dab in the middle of said spaces? (Although my mom tells me it’s because they don’t want other cars scratching their paint, so they make sure there’s ample space between them and the next car. …)

She could have at least *tried* to straighten, I fail at parking but at least I fix it! Even if I am only staying somewhere briefly. Sadly I have seen worse, such as once at the apartment complex I live at I noticed outside my window someone parked very badly … of course I had to take a photo! http://tinyurl.com/ytsgy4 they weren’t even close. Another time while leaving work I noticed two ladies confused as to how they should back out of their parking space, because some moron parked so badly next to them that the back side of their car was blocking there’s from pulling out.

The worst are those who would park right in the middle of two lots. I used too have neighbours who did that. :(

Although I freely admit, having never been taught to parallel park due to my having taken my test hundreds of years ago long before that was added to the driving test (I tend to look for longer spaces in that case) I think that my forward and reverse parking is excellent. If I park crookedly I always correct it before leaving the car. This woman’s driving and parking were appalling and I agree with Jem wholeheartedly but I have to admit, in general the worst parkers are men not women, but you can see why women drivers get a bad name with examples like that lol.

Ugh, double parkers… Multiply that by, oh, about three hundred cars, and add blatant ignorance of where the parking space lines even are, and you get my school’s parking lot whenever it snows. Even worse, it’s not small cars either, some doucheface with an F350 doubleparks into my own spot nearly every day, and even though my car (a Focus) is small, that sucker is ridiculous. I swear, drivers get worse and worse every day… Nice to see it’s not just us Americans that can’t drive though. :P
