Where Did Everyone Go?

I’ve been an avid blog reader for years. As long as I’ve had my own… possibly longer. I read a huge variety of topics, too. From personal blogs (or “journals”) to tech/gadget stuff, marketing, SEO and code to cooking and cats (but not cooking cats). However, it seems that of late all of my favourite bloggers have buggered off and I’ve got nothing to read.

Last updated: Amber, January 24th; Vixx, January 30th; Belinda, January 17th; Claire; February 17th; Karl; February 8th… what’s a girl to do?

Beg for new material, yay! If you know of a blog that you think I’d be interested in — or maybe you read mine and think I should return the favour — please post your links so that I can go on a reading rampage.

Me: Friday, with a post scheduled for tomorrow :)

I’m still chugging along, but I’ve found similar. Not least the commenters have dropped off! Is it because the second you stop blogging, you stop reading blogs?

I feel the same way about some of the blogs I read. Especially Amber’s, she used to blog so much, and now she has just sort of disappeared >.<

If you want to read about the ramblings of a seventeen year old that is basically interested in everything ( :P ) you could try reading mine. I warn you though, I don’t always make a lot of sense xD

Don’t read my blog. I haven’t written anything interesting in about a month. :P

It is a shame, yes I can’t think of any bad blogs which have become dusty, it’s only decent ones horribly.

Also, me me me me me. Me. Now that’s a good blogger. Certainly a decent cure for insomnia, at least, he says, remembering that modesty is the best policy.

I blog regularly, and even though I try to make all my posts interesting on some level, I don’t think I always succeed. :P

I feel the same way. It’s horrible how all the "good ones" inevitably leaves the whole blogging-thing. I think almost all of my favourite bloggers from just a year ago have closed shop and it’s so difficult to start following someone new – especially if it’s a personal blog, which is what I am mainly interested in..
And those who are not too busy to blog seem to move on to subjects that I am in no way interested in.. It’s tough..
I would suggest that you read my blog, but I am not sure if it’s the sort of blog you’d be interested in.. But how should I know..?!

I agree! Perhaps offline life has been keeping everybody busy, hence the unannounced hiatuses as of late. :(

I think, um, my blog… died… without my realisation. o.O

It’s one of those decision moments where you think: "Do I reform it and blog regularly again?" or just realise that you’re just incapable of doing it these days.

Funnily enough, I still keep up with everybody else’s blogs still.

I don’t know about everyone else, but winter makes me lazy. Add that to a huge dose of NO INSPIRATION, and you have one neglected blog. :P

    One of my recent favorites:

    http://photoshopdisasters.blogspot.com/

Sometimes they wrongly accuse people, but either way It’s darn funny if you ask me.

I know what you mean, but for me it’s all my friends and affiliates shutting down or ceasing to update.

I don’t blog that often, but I update almost daily with something. Does that count?

You could always stop by my blog, but it’s pretty infrequently updated, and probably of no interest to you. ;)

I’m 99.5% certain you read the posts on my blog that don’t have "fashion" in the entry title, so there’s no point linking you to mine. :P

I expect you already read fmylife.com, and if not, why not? It provides me with at least half an hours entertainment every day through my feedreader.

Otherwise, I tend to like Asian humour sites (e.g. my mom is a fob, my dad is a fob, disgrasian), my favourite frugality/simple living blog is wisebread.com, and onlineopinion.com.au is great for Australia-centric editorials. :)

Awww thanks for remembering my neglected lil’ blog. Working full-time, studying part-time and living out for the first time ever has really sapped my spare time, and I still have yet to find a workable balance to throw in blogging. I do LJ more often and you’re already on the filtered list of my friends. :D

FYI though, I have google reader opened permanently as a tab on firefox so I read every single one of the blogs I’ve subscribed to which definitely includes yours! I don’t comment too often, but I still love reading all your entries!

I’ve noticed this too – many of the blogs I used to read (particularly in the Snark circle and almost all of those you mentioned) haven’t updated in ages. I miss them! Hopefully you writing this might inspire them to start up again? :)

You know, it’s strange – while many of the blogs I used to follow haven’t updated in ages, I am blogging more often now than ever before (everyday, actually). Funny how that works!

You can read mine if you like. I blog at least once every couple of days; my last post was last night (early this morning).
Won’t be offended if you don’t read though, of course!

It’s a shame that some bloggers seem to fall off the face of the planet, but I guess "Life Happens" and sometimes things besides blogging take priority :(

Life’s mental. End of. When that happens, it’s hard to fit in much else. :P

Am going into hospital today though, so I’ll be laid up for at least two weeks from here on in. That’s bound to get a new entry out of me!!

    V xx

I come by here daily even if I don’t always comment. You can give chickadee.me a try if you would like :). Don’t know if there would be anything of interest, though.

A lot of the good bloggers are disappearing. I’m sure you won’t want to read mine since it’s basically updated very infrequently and it’s filled with ramblings of a crazy teenager :P I’ve got suggestions, but they’re in your blogroll so yeah.

Bless your heart! In my defence, I’ve a TMA due (on a 9 month long, level 3 course) this week that’s worth 40% of my final mark … Argh!

As opposed to those commenters who have said "oh no, you won’t like mine" but are still hoping that you’ll add them to your feed, I TOTALLY think you need to return the favour and read mine.
Lol, I just read Karl’s blog. Fixed the tap yet?
(And no, I don’t have any other blogs for you to read which you won’t have heard of through Snark or TQB).

Seems you have plenty of people reading yours!
I should get the ‘T’ shirt that says ‘No one reads my blog’!
I know at least one person does, but the reason (and I’m coming to the point now!) is that it’s probably not worth reading but you are of course welcome to if you are really bored! ;-)

Doesn’t it tend to happen to most bloggers? — a randomly long break? Or maybe it’s just me. :) I have actually been pretty good at blogging, but that’s probably because I actually have things to write about this year. So many entry ideas going through my head now a days.

Well, good luck on your hunt for new reading material! I actually have just recently came across a good bit of nice blogs. I’m part of Blog Catalog — most of which are just a bunch of horrible websites.. but every once in a while you’ll find a good one. :)

I noticed them disappearing too, it’s a shame, I liked reading their blogs. Maybe offline life got in the way of things, which happens to me a lot too, but for some reason I can never really seem to stay away from blogging.

It comes and goes in waves I find. Life is tooo busy! I really wish society was built on 4 day work weeks so that we could have enough time on our days off to actually get stuff done and relax.

Although… My problem is I crochet too much ~_~

This site is wonderful when it comes to recipes and general cookery: http://thepioneerwoman.com/ I love her cooking section. And I enjoy looking at her pictures and reading her stories too. http://smittenkitchen.com/ is another cooking site I really enjoy.

Otherwise a bunch of the personal sites I read are slowing down with posting too. I’ve added more to my surf page, but I imagine you’ve seen most of them before because the newer ones are people who belong to your circle.

When I start blogging again you can come to my blog. :( You know why I haven’t been blogging and I’ve been shying away from blogging controversial topics which is unfortunately what was drawing so many readers for a while there. *sigh* I guess I need to use my brain some more. :|

Lately I’ve been trying to make my blog posts interesting because I think that "what-I-did-today" posts are usually not very exciting, that’s kinda why I haven’t been blogging much in the past few months…
