Wireless in the Garden

I can’t decide if this is really cool, or really sad..

I’m sat on a comfy reclining padded garden chair, under a gazebo (tent-like thing), munching on chocolate dairy cream eclairs, sipping blackcurrant ribena whilst wirelessly accessing the Internet. All of this at the same time as considering ideas laid out in Defensive Design for the Web (my new book that I bought) and watching a bloody huge bee pruning itself on the gazebo side panel.

Ah, bliss.

I really need to get myself some Webdesign books. In Vietnam, they don’t sell any but when I went to Singapore I bought ‘CSS in Easy Steps’ by Mike McGrath, but I didn’t learn anything from it. I’m dying to read ‘The Zen of CSS’ design.

Approximately just how big was the bee? Ha, I just looked up ‘large bee’ on google. There was 22,000,000 results. Wow.

I hate bees. I realise they can be helpful and make honey; but that buzzing sound just makes me run for my life. I am a tiny bit worried that you didn’t take the opportunity of the sun to not be on the computer! haha. I’m such a hypocrite! If I hadn’t been on my holiday I would have been sitting there on the computer too… I should get wireless. Sunbathing and Computer. Wow. ;)

If you’re crazy, I’m crazy. I get wireless out by my pool, so while everyone else is playing in the water I’m sitting under the umbrella clacking away on my keyboard. Bliss, indeed ;)

British, much? :P You should wear a hat for good measure. Although, I don’t think there’s much need for a hat if you’e under a gazebo. o_O

It’s definitely cool. :) You know, at first I thought you had written that book (upon reading “my new book”), and was thinking: oh wow! Only to click on the link… and be mortified. See what finals do to me? And this was only Marketing… can’t wait for Compilers and Data Bases…

Nifty! The most I can get is internet on my balcony but it’s always so bright out that I can’t see what’s on my monitor, which is a shame because I want to be outside to do my writing. I need to pick up some web design/devolpment books myself. I’ll have to check out some of your recomdations.

It’s both sadand cool.. With a sad to cool ratio of about 1:100. I wish I had wireless-ness for my laptop… I can go on the deck but I have to be plugged in at the same time. :(

I reckon that’s pretty funky actually. Can you smell summer in the air? :P

Whitney, My eyes hurt after viewing that website. Jem you have to do a review on it. It is truely painful.

A gazebo is not a “tent-like” thing, it is a little open house-like thing, usually has chairs? Kind of like a cubbyhouse, but cubbyhouses are claustrophobic and gazeboes (gazebos?) are not. We have one at my school.

Jordie: look-up a definition of tent. In fact, I’ll save you time: “A portable shelter, as of canvas, stretched over a supporting framework of poles with ropes and pegs.” That is EXACTLY what a gazebo is.

Lucky me is currently reading jemjabella while relaxing in a hammock. Unfortunately the pool isn’t ready yet so that’s the only thing missing. Ooh the joys of wireless :)

Oooh, that sounds lovely. I’ll settle for a hammock and a gentle breeze anyday. Nice layout by the way, I like the green and brown bubbles. Makes me chipper. :)

Definitely not the latter. :D And I don’t even want to know any more about the book, just the title itself conjures up images of a karate fighting websites in my mind. heh Wonderful.

Wow! Bliss, indeed. I am planning to really spend some time with myself away from the stressful city life and take some time looking at bees or whatever. Thanx for reminding me.

You think any of us nerdy blog-commenters are going to tell you it’s not cool? Anyone who disapproves of your actions is outside right now.
