My Day Off
I am having my Friday off tomorrow (don’t normally work Fridays but haven’t taken any off for months) and am not sure what I should do.
I was originally planning on taking a walk to the local town (Ironbridge — look it up, it’s famous) to take some piccies and maybe buy some over-priced tourist crap, but it’s forecast heavy rain. My other options are going to work instead, playing with my Wii all day or taking the bus to chav-ville (town centre). What should I do?
Warning
This post is over 6 months old. This means that, despite my best intentions, it may no longer be accurate. Age, motherhood, experience, loss... these things have all changed me from when this blog was started back in the heady (ha) days of my youth.
As much as I would like to go back and edit 10 years of archives to provide an insight into the 'me' of now — to update coding snippets and revise website advice — it would probably take years to do so (by which point I'd have to start again!) This would defeat the point of keeping these archives anyway.
Please take these posts for what they are: a brief look into my past, my history, my journey.

Wii, definitely.

I agree with Chrissy. Wii is the way to go.

I second the first comment. Never go into chav ville alone! You might not come out alive.

Well, we *could* go into Ironbridge at the weekend and park in a carpark..have a look around..? I’d quite like to see if the curio centre has any more nice walking canes/sticks in..and then maybe buy one..:)

Work on the new Qbee script ;)

Wii. All day. And eat junk food along with it. That would be one of the best days ever.
-
I think it would be amazing to spend an entire day doing absolutely nothing that pertains to anything! So, Wii and Computer… :)

chav-ville is boring, I went there today. I vote for walking around Ironbridge and taking piccies. and so what if it rains, wear a coat :P
-
I’d got to Ironbridge, largely because I’ve been there and it’s fabulous. Knowing my knowledge of around where you live, I am assuming that you live in Telford? When I went there it was full of chavs :)

Or, you could forget all that and come and see me :P Or you could stay in bed (might be just as exciting). … or you could, um, I dunno… get started on your CMS 2.0?

Stay away from chav-ville! I have a question. Why isn’t ‘make wild passionate love to Karl’ on your list? Because that’d be the first thing I’d do on a day off… Well, not with Karl, ’cause he’s taken and I think you’d hurt me… Yeh. That came out wrong.

Play with the wiiii!! I bought mario 64 DS – why I don’t know – I couldn’t do the original! eugh.

Amelie, Jem coming to see you would be as interesting as her staying in bed? Are you coming onto my missus? Heh. @Rachael…I’m..flattered..XD

Cake Mania. DS. All Day.
-
Karl, you’re taken and I’m a lesbian… Stranger things have happened though…

I think you should get out and go for a walk. Take some pictures. Buy a trinket or two. Get some air! The computer and the Wii will both be here when you get back.

Sleep in. Until 2. *nods* Then play Wii. And do bloggy webby stuff. And have pizza for dinner. Mmmm….
-
Play some Wii and then go to chavs-ville to take pictures of the chavs? :D

*Votes for Wii*

I think you should…………….Start with a nice lie in, then a leisurely shower and pampering session. Then cook yourself a nice breakfast, stuff your face, lie on sofa watching telly, play some Wii, eat some chocolate, lie on sofa some more, surf the net and finally cook Karl something tantalising with pasta and fishcakes (hehe) then drag him off to bed for some hanky panky when he comes home for work. Couldn’t help noticing (sob sob) that “visit your poor old grey haired mummy” didn’t come into the equasion lol

Ironbridge sounds lovely. That’s a shame that it’s forecast heavy rain. It would’ve been fun to do the touristy thing. I’d vote for going to your town centre. I think it’d be nice to spend some time alone and do a bit of shopping. It’s always good to go out and get a bit of fresh air even when it’s raining. I’ve never heard of Chav-ville, but judging from some of the comments above it doesn’t sound like anything special, so perhaps Wii is the way to go after all.

Venture into the town centre, but only long enough to buy a new game for your Wii. If you don’t already own them, may I suggest Sonic and the Secret Rings or Medal of Honor: Vanguard?

Amelie, Jem coming to see you would be as interesting as her staying in bed? Are you coming onto my missus?
No :P I meant that it probably wouldn’t be very exciting round mine so Jem would probably be better off staying in bed :P -
Wii, woman. Wii. Then overload on the cheese-and-onion crisps and a large amount of Baileys on ice with Tia Maria. :) Lordy knows I haven’t done that in ages, but the 6pm hangover and heaving is so worth it. :P

Well, I don’t vote that you go to work. Take the day off. Everyone deserves a day off sometime or another. Why don’t you play Wii part of the day and then take the bus to chav-ville to do what you want there. At least that is my opinion.

Wii. No doubt about it. It’s cheaper in the end, which means you have more money for the next sunny day.
