Running, Camping and Other Disasters Pt.2
Running
Good news – the pelvic pain hasn’t made an appearance this week! I was a little worried I’d have to stop before I’ve even started but I think (hope) it was just a nod from the bits affected by SPD in pregnancy .. a “hello, so glad we’re being used again”!?
I managed 2.5 miles in 30 minutes last night – no stopping – so am quite pleased with myself :) Only a minor twinge in my right hip this morning. No real disaster there.
Camping
Camping is another story altogether. Having narrowly averted the tent pole disaster last week we left on Friday morning, got halfway down the road and realised we’d forgotten cups. Swung back by way of the local hardware shop to buy 2 tin camping mugs (no broken china cups here) only to have some old woman in a Clio reverse into the car! Thankfully it was very low speed and has only caused a split in the headlamp chassis, but I don’t think she even realised she’d done it – she didn’t get out to check or anything. We left it, because of the low damage and the fact that we wanted to get to camp.
Having got to camp without any other issues we soon realised we’d forgot half the crap I’d bought to take with us. Milk, fruit, sausages, bacon – all sat at home on the side and in the fridge. We had to find a local supermarket to stock up on supplies (again) so we’ve spent probably 2-3x more than I would have anticipated on this “frugal” holiday!
Other Disasters
I calculated this week that I’m amount a month behind on work because of the summer holidays, our tax credits got cancelled because of a renewal cock-up, and my blood test results came back today as all normal which is a disaster in that it means my issues are probably stress related which is a bit harder to fix than taking some tablets or going on the pill (although I AM glad of this result).
So there we go.
