Stuff I Grew

I couldn’t think of a more imaginative title, sorry.

Runner beans, which have gone a bit mental:

Om nom nom…

Strawberries (I’ve got 3 plants in this pot and 3 out the front, these are cropping better):

The mangetout peas are out of control!

One of 6 tomato plants:

Round courgettes:

And the world’s tiniest cucumber (these should have been moved into a grow bag weeks ago!)

My lettuces have been mostly devoured by slugs, my beetroot are rotting in the ground and out of 2 rows of carrots only 3 came up. Heyho, you win some, you lose some.

Looking very good! Ive been growing veggies of various kinds for several years and have never had a summer without a couple of disappointments (for me, this year, it’s the tomatoes, which seemed to be doing OK until little fingers got near them when I wasn’t looking).

I think I’ve drowned my tomatoes… no holes in the bottom of their pot, and it rained rather a lot before I realised and stabbed some drainage holes in. A small river ran out, but two weeks on the plant still doesn’t look happy :(

Looks amazing! I miss having a garden to tend. Apartment living blows :P I got to see my mother’s garden (I can no longer claim it as mine :( ) when I surprised her with a visit last weekend — the squash plants have leaves twice the size of my head! I miss the fresh tomato plants most, though. Nothing better than a fresh tomato with salt. Mmm.

Fresh peas off the vine are the best. I’m jealous. Nice looking garden, though!

Whenever I see people growing cucumber plants I get jealous because my cat eats the plants whenever I plant them! Your garden looks lovely!!!
