Jemjabella is 10!
And what a weird thought to contemplate, blogging ‘here’ for 10 years.
It’s almost bittersweet, because of late I’ve been hiding away from the bloggy world. A combination of continuous workload + raising a toddler has taken its toll on my time and inspiration, but actually, the real cause of my ‘disappearance’ has been the feeling of Being Watched.
Never before in 10 years have I let anyone dictate to me what I should and shouldn’t write (perhaps unwisely at times; not every post has been… err, sensible) and yet here I am admitting that I’m letting an unidentified threat push me away.
Whatever I decide to do with myself in the long term, the reality is that jemjabella.co.uk isn’t going anywhere. 10 years is too much of my life to let go.

Happy 10! What a milestone. I feel you on the being watched part. Hopefully it isn’t a scary watched. I have a few watchers. They bothered me a lot. But now I begrudgingly accept them, whilst throwing the occasional middle finger their way.

Congrats! 10 years is an amazing feat! :D I, too, distanced myself from blogging for the same reason… but, I’m working on a blog and coming back with an alias (heh :P) — I miss it too much!

Happy tenth birthday, Jemjabella! I remember reading this blog 5-6 years ago and loving it!
According to Google Reader, there are 352 people (including me) subscribing to your feed. You are indeed being watched. At least with blogging, your visitors will only see what you want them to see.
Anyways, I hope that you and Karl and Isabel and the forthcoming little beansprout are all doing well!

I kind of know the feeling of “being watched”. I used to not care so much about what I should write and post on my blogs back when I was in high school and my first two years of college. That changed when I was threatened by my own ex boyfriend (booooooooo, he sucks) and I had to take down my old blog. Since then it’s been hard to write freely without having to think if I may be misinterpreted, etc.

Happy Birthday! I’m sure there’s some sort of ‘in’ joke I could make about watchers but like yourself and a lot of your readers days are too short. Please keep blogging about whatever you want whenever you can – people will still come and enjoy the (often) random posts.
