Follow up: March’s Amusement
March was a big month; tutorialtastic closed, I nearly had a mental breakdown because of work pressure & whilst driving, I gave way to a sofa for the very first time. However, it was going back over Easily Amused that struck a chord with me most today, purely because Isabel hasn’t changed at all.
Today, for example, we were driving back from seeing my niece & nephew (and their very pregnant mum) and Isabel started laughing…
Me: “What are you laughing at darling?”
Isabel: “The trees!”
Me: “Are they funny?”
Isabel: “Yes [giggling]”
Me: “Are you crazy, Izzy?”
Isabel: “YES! [more giggling]”
And then this evening, completely randomly and unrelated to nothing that was happening at the time she pokes Karl and says “Daddy’s got his willy on!”
I just … yeah. There isn’t a day goes by where I don’t laugh at something she’s said, or something she’s done. She’s insane. No idea who she gets it from, Karl and I are completely normal. Ish.

You see now why I love babysitting her … almost every conversation is absolute twaddle most of the time but she finds it hilariously funny. Even the one time I got stuck and couldn’t get back up off the floor after changing her nappy and ended up having to crawl on my hands and knees to the sofa so I could use that to help – she stood there giggling and laughing saying “Nanny funny, Izzy do” and promptly got down on her hands and knees too and copied what I’d done right down to the puffing and panting (which she then also found incredibly funny and rolled around with fits of laughter) I hope she never loses her ability to laugh at anything, it will serve her well over the rest of her life.

“Ish” being the operative word. You are more “Ish” than “normal,” I can tell you that much.

At the risk of sounding like a loon myself… it’s amazing what we forget/learn to ignore as we grow up, maybe the trees tell jokes.
School tends to teach kids out of abstract thinking and turn them into clones of everyone else. Who knows what she sees/hears/understands of the world. I hope she never “grows out of it” she sounds fabulous.

Even though Willow Ava doesn’t speak for real yet, I know exactly what you mean. Who needs TV when you have kids!! :D
And if you where so normal-ish I probably wouldn’t read all of your shit, Jem.
