Someone Want To Fill Me In?

I’ve just got online — it’s 7:30pm — after having spent most of the afternoon in garden centre type places looking for plants for my front garden. It’s north-facing so shadowy and damp most of the time, which presented a bit of a problem (I’ve brought back some Fuschia).

Anyway, upon opening my inbox I find a horde of comments telling me that I’m all kinds of stupid, how dare I insult some chick’s site and that my blog is a ‘pisshole’. Does someone want to fill in the gaps and let me know exactly what it is I’ve supposedly done this time? Starting drama while I’m not even here must be a newly developed talent of mine… Apparently — from what I can tell — someone is pretending to be me on a few sites, and pretending to be those site owners on mine. *yawn*

PS. Thanks for all the help with names in the previous post. Several of the ideas were bounced around, and I know a few were quite popular with the family, but my mum decided on Merlin in the end.

  1. Maybe it was your alter ego? Anyway, I like you, am clueless. You could ofcourse always send a WTF?! message back to them. ;)

  2. Hmm….geesh you have a talent you didn’t even know, Jem. Whatcha know? I have no idea. You haven’t insulted any site lately. Maybe Hex is surfing the web while you were outside.

  3. Je ne comprends pas. :(

  4. Haha, I agree with Hev. It must’ve been Hex!

  5. Oh my gosh Jem, do you have an evil twin? :P

  6. You had drama dreams and you know it. OMG JIM U SUK.

  7. What was the site in question? Maybe it was someone else (probably Hex, yes) posing as you on someone else’s site?

  8. …and by drama dreams I mean you sleep-drama’d. Yepyep.

  9. I’m still going through your site and to-date I have yet to find any piss holes. :-) In fact, I’m quite happy with this latest find.

Fuchsias do better (generally speaking) in hanging baskets if they are the large-flowered versions. There are some hardy fuchsias that are very nice plants (provided they don’t suffer too harsh a freeze). However, fuchsias generally prefer full sun for at least an hour a day in northern climates (e.g., Seattle, WA, US).

There are some hybrid climbing roses (smaller blossoms than normal) that will do fairly well on a north side. Pulmonaria (lungort), Dicentra (bleeding heart), Leucothoe, many Rhododendron species, Acer palmatum (Japanese maples), Hydrangeas, Lilies of the valley, Cymbalaria aequitriloba (Kennilworth ivy — but it isn’t actually an ivy), linnaea borealis (twin flower), many types of Daphne, many evergreen ferns (Polystichum munitum, Blechnum spicant, etc.), and all sorts of other plants.

Feel free to drop me an Email if you want to get some ideas about plants/foliage/blooms/colors and evergreen versus deciduous stuff (oh, and sizes of mature plants/growth habits)…or, I’ll be happy to reply here.

FWIW, I’m an environmental horticulturist/urban forester/restoration ecologist here in Seattle.

  10. Hmm… Hex insulting other sites does seem to make sense. xD Or maybe someone was impersonating you on other sites. Who knows… (I don’t. :D)

  11. Hey! My site got haked =( as you realized! This is my IP! I hope I havent caused you too much trouble! Im installing wordpress as you suggested…. Damn cutenews! This isnt the first time I have been hacked…. Its getting me down… Was my site really that bad?

  12. Any links in the emails about it? Something you can google?

  13. Wanna bet it’s a bunch of followers of the xoxmariah craphole that have suddenly discovered your hypocrisy post?

  14. I’m with Nyx. It sounds like some stragglers from the xoxmariah junk… that’s all I can think of off the top of my head.

  15. *scratches head*
    Nope, not a clue, sorry!

  16. “Jem”, now synonymous with “drama lama”… X_x

    this is sad

  18. I admit it. I was me. FLAME ME!

  19. How come everyone is blaming poor Hex? Poor kitty.

What an ass, whoever is posing as you and other webmasters to start drama. :P

  20. Hahaha @Louise!

And as for the truth of people having too much time on their hands as to cause unnecessary and stupid webdrama… I just feel sorry for them. Good detective work finding that out, though.

  21. AMANDA SMELLS LIKE A DRUNKARD.

    true story.

  22. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right? And drama makes the world go round. Or at least makes me giggle when it’s not happening to me.

And on a sidenote… Did you happen to notice that Ashley on Timebombreview (I read their reviews for shits and giggles) told a 12 year girl that she “…should burn in hell for being a copier, a stealer, a liar, and a horrible person.” Ashley has such a way with kids.

And of course Merlin is a wonderful name. :)

  23. *is awed* So you can type blog entries while you’re not even near your computer? I want that talent too. Any idea where I could learn that?

  24. Wow! First wireless and now fingerless blog entries :) Although being copied does show admiration I would see what I could find out and make sure those people know that these insults did not come from you. Mind you, it must be flattering to know that people find the need to imitate you hehe. Shallow minded idiots Jem, not worth your time or effort really.

Thanks to everyone for the help in name chosing :)

  25. You blogged with your mind, Jem. ;)

  26. Merlin suits him surprisingly well!

  27. ZOMG it was teh cat Merlin!!!!

  28. MERLIN! It suits him. I didn’t sugget Merlin because that’s my dog’s name, and thought that would make it self-aggrandising in some way. Incidentally, Merlin gave me a funny look when I told him about the new Merlin across the pond. I’m pretty sure it’s because the new Merlin is a cat, and my Merlin hates cats.
