Reversed Out?

I can’t decide now whether to keep my layout as it is, or have it reversed out. Welcome all feedback, unless it’s “you suck, stop fucking about in photoshop dumbass”. :P

  1. Leave it please.
    kthnx :P

  2. Leave it.
Also, you suck, stop fucking about in photoshop dumbass. ;)

  3. After a lot of flickering between the two I go with Reversed Out. Mainly, because your most important part of the site (the blog) is in white and the white is the first thing my eye catches. I see no pink though…

  4. Ooh, Reversed Out definitely for me. I think it looks better.

  5. Reversed Out!

If you get enough votes for both of them, theme switcher?

Theme switchers are too much hassle.. you end up having to maintain two bloody sites effectively *meh*

  7. I prefer it as it is now :P

  8. I prefer the reversed one. :)

  9. Either one you pick, I think asides should have a box about them, that way you can tell the difference between the two. Because right now, they just look out of place.

I’ve not finished tweaking the asides :p

    I agree.

  12. I like the current layout better. Keep it as is.

  13. I prefer the reversed one. Although the blue side buttons in the reverse layout looks a little off in colour against the blue background.

  14. I like it how it is :)

  15. You HAVE Photoshop. How useful do you find it, as someone with not a whole lot of graphic design skill, like me?

I say leave it. I especially like how the main content box is now boxed by white; if you have to switch, keep this kind of border. Do you understand what I mean…?

And what Stephanie said. Asides are too weird.

  16. Reversed out… I think :P

    You mean like this, Stephanie?

  18. Reversed Out (if you’re gonna keep the asides integrated into the main posts area)

  19. Reversed out.

The white looks better for the main content than as a sidebar.

  20. Leave it as is please.

  21. Personally, I like them both. I know not much help. So I would say it is up to you.

  22. Why not make a completely new layout if you’re contemplating a new design? It gives you a chance to start fresh and I’ve found through experience that you’re more inclined to dislike a layout if you build upon an old one.

  23. Leave it. The blue emphasises the grey too much making it look drab (love that word) and then the grey and blue together contrasts too much with the white.
Why not just design something completely new?

I am too lazy to do something new.

That said, after changing the font, I quite like this white on blue thing rather than the reversed out version :)

  25. I like the asides, now. They don’t look silly, anymore. And I’m a fan of the font, too! Tahoma?

  26. I like this one a lot better. I didn’t like the reversed out one cause everyone’s doing grey/back on white. This layout is kind of special, and I love it for it. :)
Like I said before, this is the best you’ve done, why changing it so soon?

  27. I liked it better yesterday when the asides were different. Having them right on the edge of the blue just looks wrong. In a “I don’t have a real reason” way.

  28. Reversed out. I like reading text on a white or dark grey background better.

  29. Leave it. The blue content background appeals more to me.

  30. I vote reversed out. It makes your main content “pop” more.

  31. I like the reversed out, although the hover-over for the nav looks more brown than gray… or maybe I’m just seeing things.

  32. I think you should reverse it, it looks better… :)

    reversed kthnx

  34. Hey you changed the way the hover works on the navigation and I’m not a fan :(

I’ve not touched the nav.. what’s it doing/not doing? o.O

  36. I think the reversed out one looks nicer. ;)

  37. They’re pretty similar, but I must say that Reversed Out works a little better. As Tracy said, the white draws our eyes to the content.

  38. I like them both. I’m the last person to ask for decisions because I’m too indecisive!

  39. The background behind your blog makes it pop more. If that’s what you are going for, the I think the reversed version better accomplishes having the blog immediately grab your attention.

  40. Sorry, for double posting, what I meant to say was :

    “The white background….”

    There. :)

  41. Honestly, Reversed Out seems a bit easier on mine eyeballs. Just my humble opinion. :)

By the way, I know you’ve been back for a while, but it’s my first time posting since, but welcome back and I’m glad to hear you’re doing better!

  42. I like Reversed Out, but if I were you, I’d leave it just because it’s less work. ;)

  43. I like the one you proposed to Stephanie the best. The white border really makes it pop out.

  44. Once upon a time when you hovered over, the rounded end, like, shortened. I don’t know how to describe it correctly, but basically, whatever link you were hovering over, the width of it was shorter than all the others. Now, if you hover, it just goes from rounded to square, and remains the same width…

  45. I think I like the reversed out, better.

you suck, stop fucking about in photoshop dumbass

  46. You suck, stop fucking about in photoshop dumbass.

    Lol, j/k.

I like it both ways. Maybe make skins?

  47. Stephanie, that happened to me for about a millisecond, your computer just isn’t loading the new images fast enough I suppose!

Uhhh… Uhhh… REVERSE? KEEP IT THE SAME? I like them both; the current is unique, the reverse brings my attention to the blog. I’ll go with reversed.

Now stop fucking about in Photoshop dumbass.

  48. Reversed + Verdana = orgasm.

  49. Hmmm…I love both. This one, however, is more unique than the other.

  50. Leave it as is! The contrast looks so much better the way you have it… and white backgrounds all of the time are starting to get overcooked.

  51. Reversed. I rather refer dark text on light background. Tends to be more comfortable for my eyes.

  52. Why are the asides on the bloggy now? :( I suppose that’s not a crime..! I like the design the way it is, so I guess my vote is for not reversing it. In the end though, it’s your site. You should probably do what makes YOU happiest!

  53. Actually, I liked it better as is.

  54. Leave it as it is. I like the current one much better. :)

  55. maybethislayout2.jpg looks good. I like thick borders.

  56. The reversed version is too bright and it hurts my eyes. I would prefer you left it as it is :o)

  57. The reversed version is too bright and it hurts my eyes.

    Agreed! Leave as is.

  58. I like it as it is now. I don’t really like how the section where your blogs will go is white as it looks white plain. Maybe you could give your current sidebar a background colour.

  59. I like it how it is now. ^_^

  60. I like the reversed one, go with that one.

  61. As it is; far more original.

  62. Either way is fine, but I’d rather see reversed out.

  63. Reversed out would be cools. =D

  64. Leave it, it looks good as it is. : )

  65. I like it as it is. :)

  66. Totally leave it as it is. Pretty please. So much better this way. ;)
