On the Contrary

There was a thread from a lame-o myspace forum that popped up in the rev.iew.me referrals (nearly 300 members now btw).

Apparently, we all suck because one or two of us like Diane’s layout (that big one I linked the other day). Apparently, only plain layouts are trendy in our world and it’s all because that awful “jembella is a bitch” or something along those lines. Apparently, one must get a review from a good site to combat our bias towards this style of layout.

How one goes about getting a review from a website, as opposed to the standard method of getting one through a person? I do not know.

Of course, the funny thing is, I have two favourite styles of layout. Simple, ordered and “white-space blessed”, and then on the opposite end of the scale… huge, colourful gorgeous things that take up your screen and explode your eyeballs. The only problem is, I can think of maybe one person who does that kind of layout well, and that’s Rose. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen anything that pushes boundaries and succeeds. No, I don’t call your dodgy celebrity blends (see: BANNERS) “pushing boundaries”.

I do request, however, that if you wish to insult me in the future, at least spell my name right you idiot.

Edit: Aw, he apologised. How sweet.

Had to remove the sweary words. Apparently triggered a few people’s internet filter. Oops.

  1. Lol. I am loling at his stupidity. Yup. Now, I must get back to my gay trading, k?

  2. But, Jem, didn’t you know? You’re only cool if your website features a picture of a “celebrity” no one over the age of 13 has heard of, all plastered with crappy brushes, tiny fonts and glitter!

It’s what all the hip kids are doing nowadays!

  3. Why do they need to look for review sites to review their glittery colour-clashing stuck-upness anyways.

So… wait, why is this girl mad?..

I’m really confused. What’s her deal? Did you review her on rev.iew.me and she didn’t like what you said?

If that’s the case, it’s not her place to be mad, she signed up.

  5. LOL. I needed a good laugh before I started my essay.

Jem, you should use this image in your new layout:

  6. I think “matt” just got royally owned. Ha.

  7. Owned-ed.

  8. Jem, you forgot to mention what my exact post was – this blog makes it seem like I’ve gone out and told all my friends your review site sucks. I said this:

“They are personal/blog sites because the site is owned by that jembella bitch, so all the visitors are bloggers. lol ”

I spelt your name wrong, ohh big mistake. And I called you a bitch because you are one, you know you are. Look at how you responded to what I said. Own being a bitch then, instead of blogged about it and twisting any truth.

And those graphics you posted – you saw the thread was from “December 20th, 2006” right?

I’m prepared to apologise, and I am sorry. It would be nice of you to remove this blog, and I’ll get my post’s removed also.

  9. LOL @ Vasili :l

    p/s: I’m confused too.. :l

  10. Err, count me in on the confused list. Is the place where he was talking shit still up? I’m curious to read it. You know what’s funny is that I joined that forum recently because I got a referral link to my site from it. It was one of their members (I think) that is the person I was talking about that is redistributing others’ emoticons as her own and I found out because of that forum. Of course they defended her. :P I joined so I could post that she was a big, fat thief.

  11. lmfao @ Vasili

  12. Language Timothy!

That’s it Matt, because stereotyping an entire group of web users based on the fact that you think I’m a bitch doesn’t make you look more of a tit, does it…

  14. For Matt… you think Jem is a bitch? HA! You should meet her mother! She does have a point, if you must insult people the least you can do is spell their names correctly.

  15. no, it is pushing boundaries… those of copyright :P

  16. Did he apologize for the crap that he talked or for spelling your name wrong?

Good question! Of course, spelling my name wrong was more offensive…

  18. Is the apology in the comment above? Because that basically insults you again (lest you forget it) and then whines about you being mean and requesting you delete your post…

So er… did you remove anything from here… because I’m quite confused.

I removed a sweary word, because it was triggering people’s Internet filters. Other than that, no.

He made a lame attempt at being sorry via email too, though.
