The Internet Sucks

Yes, you read that right, the Internet suxxors.

It was the Internet that told me that it was going to rain all day Friday which is why I made the decision not to go out with my camera. It was sunny most of the day — until late afternoon when we had a massive storm. Nonetheless, I could have gone to Ironbridge and got back within plenty of time with lots of colourful crap and yummy touristy sweeties.

Against my better judgement (and against the advice of 95% of you, sorry) I decided not to stay in with my Wii and took the bus to the town centre with my emo brother. I took out a large handful of moolah from the cashpoint (ATM), went into Game, Dorothy Perkins, etc (my usuals) but every time I spotted something I liked, I realised I’d get it cheaper off the ‘net. I ended up getting a cheeseburger and coming home.

So not only is the Internet putting people off from shopping locally by lying about the weather, it is forcing the bigger shops to put their bargains online rending any attempt to get out of the house pointless and tiring. I might as well become a hermit.

The less you have to leave the house the better RL is a really scary place.

Note that the yummy breakfast cooked for you was not mentioned, nor the scintillating company provided by your kind dear old grey haired mummy that dutifully came and fetched you so that you could accompany your “emo” brother to the wonders of Telford Town Centre. well…………… methinks Meh is in order now :p

I’m pretty sure the internet ruined my life. If I didn’t grow up with I’d probably have turned out different (I think the word “normal” comes to mind).

Online shopping is perfect for hermits like me, and I quite enjoy being a hermit (to a certain extent).

It sucks so much that it’s eating up my entire day. Instead of sleeping my fatigue off, I make the internet my bed, my psychiatrist, and most possibly, my boyfriend.

For some reason I kept thinking of that Avenue Q broadway song about the Internet or something (egads, my memory be failing like a fat D+) … but it does suck. BUT. It is also very pretty. *pats it*

There are aspects of it that definitely do suck… Carmelo Lisciotto

I know it’s not quite unique, but all Discovery Stores in the USofA are shutting down so as to encourage people to shop online at their store. I’m excited about this because there’s one at my mall, and since it’s a closing sale, everything is like 75% off. GLEE! I bought a ‘nature’ sound thing to help me sleep but I tell my guy that we can’t listen to the Jungle noises because it reminds me of ‘Nam. o.o

Yes, the internet sucks — so much so even that after crap days, you have to log on and rant. Bad internet! Why is it so damn addictive?!

The internet sucks indeed. It would appear I spend far too much time on here that I forgot today was father’s day over here in the states!

And are you really qualified to say that the Internet sucks? lol… just kidding And don’t blame the Internet for the weather, blame the weather people who mess things up and don’t change it. Because the Internet is always more accurate than the TV, which is in turn even better than the newspaper.

Well… I think it only sucks to a certain level… I do believe that when goin clothes shopping though, it is better to go to an actual shop to find the clothes.

*agrees* I’ve been wanting to get my hands on the “Glasswright Apprentice” series so much, but local bookstores don’t sell it. And the capital is some 500km away… plus there’s a high chance they won’t sell them either. But I’m scared of shopping online. I hear lots of “horror” stories on TV about e-shops. About remember a skype conversation with my aunt, where she asked dad about the current weather here. And when he said it’s sunny, my aunt complained that he must be wrong because the weather forcast site said it was currently pouring :P (she was joking obviously).

My boyfriend just moved into a new apartment. He was joking that he’ll only ever leave the apartment for work, and that he would just order his groceries online. To which I said, “Good! Then you won’t meet any hot ladies picking out melons in the produce section of the store.”

^ Haha, I am sure the only melons he’s interested in are yours ;)

I remember a CSI where a chick shopped online only for everything. She ended up getting killed. I sadly have to go out & shop because I have no purty cards to use to shop online.

I don’t think becoming a hermit is the answer. Yes things seem to be cheaper on the Internet but it’s boring, just sitting around, looking for stuff you want to buy and clicking. It’s much better to be walking around the shops :)

But you also have to remember shipping & handling, Jem. At least I believe you will still have to pay that over there. Sometimes that makes the item more expense then in the store. Plus you will have to wait for it to arrive where you could have that day if you bought it in the store. From one hermit to another. There isn’t nothing wrong with us. We just adore being by ourselves. At least you have Karl
