Ho Ho, Nearly Christmas

Sorry, I know some of you avoid Christmas like the plague, but I have to mention it at least once before December otherwise I’ll positively burst!

Christmas, it’s my favourite time of year (and if you didn’t know before, you do now). I love the conversations, the food (oh! especially the food) and seeing peoples faces when they open all their gifts. Yes, their gifts, those materialistic shitty things that no doubt will be left in the bottom of a dusty cupboard once the novelty has worn off.

I’ve already done a large part of my Christmas shopping (with the exception of 2 items, all of it bought online) and now I’m just waiting for the likes of Amazon to deliver it straight to my door. Ahh, convenience how I love thee. All I’ve got to do now is figure out what I’m getting my brother for Christmas and I should be set. I might even be really childish and buy an advent calendar this year!

Now if only I knew how to answer the dreaded question “so what do YOU want for Christmas?”

I’m Jewish, so I celebrate Hanukkah, and I really like it. (Potato latkes are SO good and I love giving/getting presents). However, I also love Christmas even though I don’t celebrate. I love Christmas shows and movies, Christmas songs and Christmas cookies. Sometimes I wish I celebrated it. For Hanukkah I want a cell phone and/or a digital camera. Books and some other stuff wouldn’t hurt either.

It’s a dilemma isn’t it? I don’t celebrate christmas, but I do celebrate Sinterklaas (similar) and I never know how to answer the what do you want question…. The only things I want are too expensive :P

I want a Nintendo Wii for Christmas! OH! You mean people are asking what *you* want for Christmas, not what *Rachael* wants for Christmas… Haha. Whoops.

I love Christmas too! People scoff at me for counting down the days and itching to decorate my tree, but dammit — its fun! Christmas has always been a fun time for me, I get to revert to being a kid again and revel in Christmas carols, candy and decor. It gets me all giddy.

I’ve just asked for a goody box. Some spotty wellies, some craft supplies, maybe a book or two that I would like, etc etc Oh and the spice girl’s greatest hits. No really.

I don’t celebrate Christmas (no presents to worry about!) but it’s a great time of year. I love the spirit :)

I love Christmas. My present is coming 20 days early. I’m going on a school trip to New York City but because it’s expensive, it counts as Christmas plus hundreds of IOUs for my mom.

I love Christmas too…yikes, I better get started on gifts! I’m not sure what I’d ask for…probably a gift card to somewhere!

I love Christmas. The gifts, the weather, the togetherness, the vacation from school. It’s all great. And this year, everything I’m asking for for Christmas will not be left in a dusty cupboard anytime soon. An R4 for my Nintendo DS, a 2GB microSD card for said R4 and a new AC adapter for my laptop.

I don’t really celebrate Christmas (my family go along with it though) but it is my favourite time of the year :). This year I’m really disorganised, I haven’t even been Christmas shopping yet. Good to know you’ve almost got everything sorted.

I have got most of my Christmas shopping done. I also can’t answer what I want for Christmas.

Such a girl. I’m doing my shopping on Xmas eve… Disappointment aplenty for my relatives :) Advent calendars – everyone should have one.

The same thing I want every Christmas; a pretty woman to have bedtime fun with. Is that too much to ask?

Noo not that dreaded question. I never know what I want for Christmas! =/ I’ve got most of my Christmas shopping done except for what to buy my boyfriend and to finish of a few people’s presents here and there. R.E. Advent calender – everyone should have one, end of. :D

Whenever I’m asked, my first impulse is to say “surprise me”, because I like nice surprises. Unfortunately my mom has a tendency to surprise me in rather unpleasant ways… This year, since I finally have my own money, I just hope to be able to find great presents for my parents and grandfather. Problem is, I have no idea what to buy.

@Grax: If you don’t have two front teeth, it’s no wonder you haven’t got a pretty woman for bedtime fun ;)

I wait until December 24th to get my shopping done :3 Though I’m debating this year whether to get it done early, so I can relax and lay around the house playing Halo 3. As far as what I want, my grandmother brought that up last night and I just don’t know. I don’t really *need* anything. Maybe some little clothes like socks and undies, otherwise.. I’m pretty much set for the “affordable” stuff. Otherwise I do want an HD LCD tv, in you know, 42″+ or more. :P

Well, I am planning on making a lot of handmade gifts this year. I love making things. I’m making soaps, bath salts, lotions, etc. It’s been a lot of fun so far. I’ve even made some lip balm. I still have a lot of things I need to purchase though. Haven’t started on that yet. :P I need to though, because I will probably get a lot of things off the internet too. And I love advent calendars too!

I dearly want a notebook and a new mp3 player because mine’s positively ancient. Plus the horde of books that I’ve had my eyes on all year, and a job … all the usual generalised idealistic crap that teenagers ask for without physically writing it all down and brandishing the list in their parents’ faces. Let’s hop on the bandwagon, for yes, I also heart advent calendars. *waves little flag* :)
