Splashing Out

I decided I should treat myself for getting a new job, and bought a pre-owned Nintendo DS today. It wasn’t a bad price, and the console is in reasonable condition (the case is a bit scuffed but the screens are top notch, which is what matters). I bought the New Super Mario Bros game which I’d ‘previewed’ on my brother’s DS. Eeee.. it’s fabulous, heh. I’ve pre-ordered Harvest Moon for the DS to go with my pre-ordered GameCube game.

Ooh, guess what else I did today? I met Katy! It was only a fleeting meeting (that rhymes, hehe) on a bus to our local town centre, but it’s a good start. :) She should expect me to show up on her doorstep expecting a three course meal next..

Ooh.. toast would do. I like toast!

  3. Now you have to meet moi. HAVE TO. Else I shall come stalking you. Yes. *Wields plastic knife*

  4. I suggest you get Animal Crossing too. It’s a highly addictive game. It might ruin your life as you know it. But that’s okay, cause it’s Animal Crossing!

  5. I can guarantee that you won’t be meeting me in the streets soon. ;)

  6. Never ever played a DS game, but Mario games tend to be pretty good. Wow – you met an online friend! I wouldn’t know what to think of that. I know that you won’t be meeting me anytime soon.

  7. YAY FOR DS!! We have to play with each other. Defintely pick up Animal Crossing when you get the chance… I have Super Mario Brothers, Mario Kart, Brain Age, and Animal Crossing and Animal Crossing is by far my favorite!

  8. I second (third?) the vote for Animal Crossing. I only have it for Gamecube but I LOVE IT. It is wonderful. I long for a DS so I can get Animal Crossing: Wild World. I have yet to meet any of my Internet friends but would love to. Congrats on meeting Katy!

  9. Uh oh.. someone is going to be having fun on the weekends.. lol.. I used to want a nintendo DS but santa ignored me! =( oh well.. Very nice site though! :)

  10. I recently met an online friend, too. It’s such a weird feeling, even though “online friends” and “offline friends” have grown to be just “friends” to me after all these years of talking to people all over the world. But it’s just a totally different feeling when you finally get to see them in the flesh. Hehe.

  11. hey, nice new r-y layout :) Just noticed it now.

  12. Meeting an online friend would be so cool! Although personally, I’d be a little terrified. Seeing pictures of my online friends have crushed my inital images of them before, and I might just do the same if I ever meet up with one. I have this chipmunk voice that would totally kill any intelligent reputation I have. :P

  13. I once met an online friend offline. I was 12 and was in the ‘Neopets Guild/Graphics’ phase and she found my site on the DNW Topsites list. Anyway. She added me on MSN and it turned out I was going to her school in about a month for a sports exchange! That was very exciting. She’d seen a few pictures of me, but found my twin sister first. We talked for only a couple minutes but it was really cool. On a bus? Did you guys plan to meet there or was it totally coincidental?

Oh wow, Super Mario Bros! :o They rock at being games. I have a little game for it for my old non-colour gameboy, which I’ve treasured and still not completed. Have fun with that!

  15. I’ve also just permitted myself to get a PSP, so a DS is next . . . maybe I can convince Father Christmas to put one in my stocking?! V xx

  16. A DS is so expensive (here anyway), I’ve been looking into them for the brain training games (which they only have for the DS) but I figured if I’m going to use it only for that it’s not worth the money. Meeting up with an online friend is usually fun, if it’s done in a ‘safe’ place of course :)

  17. I played the Mario game on my nephews DS two weekends ago and LOVED it! I have no time for a new game though :(

  18. Oooh, DS. I don’t touch the gaming systems anymore, and besides, the only games we have are my brother’s sports games and stuff. Boring. Don’t have time anyway. Unless you are prepared for a very long swim or catching the tail of a rather large sea gull, we’re not meeting any time soon. And considering the fact you don’t swim, well, ;)

  19. Ooh, I have a DS. I’ve become addicted to it. :S

  20. I’m playing Harvest Moon: DS right now ^__^ I’ve posted some warnings *cough* I mean hints in my latest blog entry. Have you started playing yet?
