PHP Classes

To celebrate the success of writing my very own, first ever PHP class I’ve been re-writing the backend of the site. It probably means nothing to you guys, but basically means things should be a bit quicker, a little more “optimised”. I’ve also decided to rejig how the site is laid out too — things are in folders so if you want to get to the reviews, you’ll just be able to go to “jemjabella.co.uk/reviews” ..and so on.

I’ve also got rid of the layouts. Yes, completely. Now that I’ve tested my skin code and know for a fact it works and can undertake the stress my site gives it, I don’t need the skins anymore. The site will have a bit of basic colour and nothing much else. This means I’ll be ‘giving away’ all of my layouts when I can be bothered to clean them up and sort them out.

All of this won’t be live for.. well, probably not until the end of the month, really. I’ve still got things to do on it, and it’s not at the top of my priorities list, what with job hunting/etc. Talking of which — thank you for the offers of help regarding renewing Review-You but I don’t need it. :) The domain doesn’t expire for another few months and if I was that desperate to keep the domain name I’d prod sleep with Karl and make him pay.

Aw, I’ll miss the skins, especially the one not named because it’s my absolute favorite. I organise by site by the /photos and stuff, too.

Ah, I like the skins, but I can’t wait to see this site after the change.

I like the un-named skin too…! I bet it will feel great when the site is all organised :) I’m a really messy person, but I HAVE to have all my folders on my computer, and bookmarks properlly organised!

Aw! I love the skins. Still, can’t wait to see it all come together. =) You’ll be happy to know I’ve started learning PHP, and this is the page I wrote so far (lol): http://www.allanne.com/hello.php Be sure to do the form thing. I think you’ll get a kick out of it.

Sad to see skins go to. Unnamed is my favorite too! (Perhaps Jem should just use that one…)

My favourite is “Unamed” (version 7) so that will hopefully stay. Heh, so true about the layout things. Just yesterday I was browsing some blogs and on one of them the webmistress was asking for money to get herself a second hardware… in exchange she promised to make site layouts @@ I just found that quite tasteless. What do random visitors care about her HDD’s size… YOU GO jem, as for the solution: would it be such a bad idea? ;-)

Count me in on missing the skins, though the only one I use is the pink and blue one – I’m guessing it’s the untitled one but I can’t be bothered to go look. :P Yay on the PHP class-writing!
