Not Long to Go…
Only another 9 days until the phone line is connected. You know what phone line means? INTERNET! It’s bloody infuriating without it — not because I can’t check my e-mail or blog — but it seems I miss all the best “omgwtfbbq e-drama” (like idiots still recommending pixelfx.. d’oh) when I’m offline. So easily amused, that’s me.
Have all but given up on my NaNoWriMo story (I got ‘stuck’ at 500 words because my plot flat-lined) and decided to start again with another idea. No idea how I’m going to make up the 12,000 or so words I should have by now, especially with some new huge projects at work, but if I don’t try I’ll only kick myself.
Now, off to download Ultima VI. There’s memories there — I played Ultima VI on my first ever PC back when Windows 3.1 was still in use, although I have to add “not for long” because I formatted the PC and didn’t have the knowledge back then to figure out why my CD-ROM drive stopped working. To think it needed drivers, pft! ;)

Yeah…I missed internet a lot while on vacation. I wondered how far my NaNoWriMo plot thing would take me…so far over 4,000 words…but I feel dreadfully behind!

My plot has taken me up to a little over 10,000 words and I’m still writing. For me the key is to stop writing at a certain point (i.e. a finishing a chapter) while I still have ideas left to write about to continue the story. Anyway I’m counting down the days until you get your phoneline, I miss reading your witty blogs!

Haha, I’m at 399, to be exact. I started Wednesday. I have TONS of ideas, but zippo time (well, that’s excluding the five hours of procrastinating last night…erm…) I’d never suggest PixelFX…it’s crap. I do recommend tutorialtastic to my friends when they ask me how to make a cross-browser compatible site. I think bad tutorial sites should be illegal. Guess that leaves enough sites to count on my hands.

Seems like everyone is participating in NaNoWriMo except me! :( Good luck with your story :p When we moved ’bout a month ago, I had to live without internet for 2+ weeks, too. Pure torture.

I hate that part. Had a storm earlier this year that knocked about 90% of the power and phone out for two weeks. It is a convenience to have the phone line indeed. Is that site even online anymore? I thought it was not renewed. As for the NanoWriMo challenge, do not despair. It may help if you plot it out on paper first. That is how I am getting through my challenge.

Ah, I see my 20-something fun loving German girl Belinda (who I’m sure will agree that joke is getting very old) commented above me! I’m not participating in NaNoWriMo either, so that makes two of us. As for the internet – I feel your pain. My laptop is currently out of action because the silly charger cord frayed and it wont charge anymore, so no computer or no net for me until the new charger arrives in the mail. Apple, being Apple, retail replacement chargers at $175 – in other words no way – so I’m getting a secondhand one. Hope all is well with you Jem!

Last spring I didn’t have even computer for a while and that was making me crazy. Now people ask how you survive without TV… Um just fine I have computer and Internet, so life is just perfect.

Jem is forgetting that we will also need an ISP, so it will actually take LONGER than 9 days..:)

I’ve given up on all hope of finishing my NaNoWriMo by the end of the month, my school choose a somewhat inconvenient time to start doling out the coursework.

I’ve gotten to 14,000 words and I’ve all but given up. I’m trying to carry on going but my parents hate my tapping on the keyboard so it’s hard…

9 days? I would die (or play with my brother-in-law’s Nintendo DS until it explodes).

I got to exactly 1762 words. I have given up. Yes, I know. Pathetic.

I’ve started about three stories. Quit at about 600 words.

Jem, advice from your granddad…. He says instead of trying to do an exact amount of words, forget the amount, just write. He says he used to have the same problem until he dumped the “pressure” and now he never has any problems with flow. Good luck :o)

I thought about trying NaNoWriMo but I jut couldn’t do it. I can’t write 50,000 words. Which really sucks because I have an idea for a book.
