More BellaBuffs updates

Made some new changes to BellaBuffs this week thanks to feedback and bug reports from Téa P. They are as follows:

  • Fixed XHTML validity issue in form textareas in: join.php, update.php and contact.php
  • Changed value of submit button in contact.php (copy&paste error!)
  • Included footer.php in join.php error messages
  • Added fixEmail() to “Reply-To: ” in e-mail admin section of join.php
  • Added “Please select a country:” option to join.php and update.php
  • Added dynamic link to approved/pending members edit section after editing member
  • Added count of members for each country in members.php
  • Changed broken $email to $admin_email in “Reply-To: ” in approval section of admin.php

I have also started work on the collective add-on. Please let me know if you run a fanlistings collective and have requirements that current scripts don’t provide. Edit: Ooh! Ooh! almost forgot.. I noticed today that someone has applied for a BellaBuffs fanlisting, and I’ve no idea who it is! Please tell me so I can send you your cheque ;)

Work is leaving me so tired by the end of the day (but in a good way)! It’s making me too lazy to blog though, heh. I have to say, I’m happier than I’ve been in a while. I get to sit and code all day, it’s like geek bliss :9

    Call me a geek, but I walked into Walden Books today and made a beeline for The Google Story that I saw on the shelf immediately, xD Coding all day is more fun that one can possibly imagine. Reaching that level of a job is like nerdvana.

    I think it was Julie who got the Bellabuffs fanlisting. Anyway, I’d love to see a “show all” owned fanlistings with current and pending members. That’s really all that’s stopping me from converting to Bellabuffs right now. Click on my name to go to my collective…everything you see there is what I’m looking for. :)

    Hmph, I wanted the bellabuffs fanlisting! I already have BellaBook (*points at link in Jem’s sidebar* plzjoinkthx!11) and I wanted the collection :P Oh well, I just have to hope the person who’s got it will get bored/troubled whatever so I can adopt it :D

    The fanlistings collective.. um, CHECK BOXES, ie. on Enthusiast, you have to approve/reject each member seperately. :(

    I don’t know if I’m blind or something, but in case I’m not, I’d love to be able to convert from Enthusiast to BellaBuffs. Will this be possible some day? :) And I too applaud your work, the non-work work… and the work… *confuses self*

    I am not sure I get the whole collective thing – I am pretty sure I won’t forget what fanlistings I run anyway. I just converted them to bellabuffs not long ago – thank you a lot for the script it is awesome!

    My friends and I (fans of the J-Pop group Arashi) were actually thinking about signing up for the BellaBuffs fanlisting because it’s such an awesome script! But we got beat, so it’s a loss. Then again, we’re still happy that there is going to be one soon. :) Oooh, a collective would be so nice! It’d be so cool to have one to add in to my fansite and list down all related fanlistings hosted in my domain. It’d be like a one-stop directory where people can just go in one place and visit these related fanlistings at one place. :)

    I don’t know if this is something you want to change (it’s really minor) but the send button on the contact form (contact.php) says Join instead of Send.

    @Deanne: To update to the newest version of BellaBuffs download the latest version and delete from it the NEW .txt files — these are generally empty and you won’t need them. These are the files you DO need: admin.php join.php update.php contact.php members.php logout.php affiliates.php buttons.php Upload them over the top of the old ones. If you’ve made any changes to those files don’t forget to make a back-up so that you can re-apply them later. If you’re worried about making a mistake, save your members.txt and config.php to your computer because those are the two most important files. Let me know if you need any more help :)

    I’m having a problem, the logout.php didn’t work. I got this message: This script cannot run unless the .txt files have been uploaded and have write permissions. Please ensure they are CHMODed/have permissions set to 666. I have CHMODed all .txt files to 666.. What was wrong?
