Harvest Moon
I bought Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life for the Gamecube. It is incredibly like that TV program from years ago where the guy and his missus give up their jobs to do things the old-fashioned way.. growing their own food etc. I’m sure it’s called something similar too.
It’s funny actually, in a not funny way.. I checked out the price on play.com first because I remembered they were having a sale. Even in the sale, it was £14.99: the words “haha no” sprang to mind. So, I went to Amazon and bought a copy for £8.99 from the Used/New section thinking it was a used copy. Turns out it’s a brand new copy at a saving of a fiver. Hoorah!
Anyway, I was just wondering if any of my fellow bloggers were Harvest Moon players and if anyone had any tips for a newbie to the game? I say tips: not cheats.. I don’t want to ruin it before I’ve even started!

Hi Jem! If you want to make some money in the game, then buy trees. Also, I have the same Harvest Moon game that you have, but I never fell in love with it. I just boght a Harvest Moon game to GameBoy Advance, and I like it better. The colors is brigher, and those are the kind of things I fall for. So if you like it to GameCube, I can promise you that you woudl love it to Game Boy. Have fun with it!

Whee Harvest Moon! I’m pretty much a fan of the whole series; I’ve played the GB, GBA, Playstation, GBA and SNES versions. It’s great fun (for a while at least). I suggest you start planting crops! And grass too (to feed the animals). Don’t get too tired, otherwise you’d get sick and lose time. Go talk to the villagers lots, the more you talk to them and give them gifts, the more they like you and eventually give you things in return. When starting off with not much money, I’d say buy chickens first. They’re cheap and give eggs! :D

I got Secret Paths in the Forest but not that. I’m not sure whether what I’m saying is even relevant…

I played the Gameboy version, my brother has some other versions and he might lend me the GBA one (Friends of Mineral Town). The GB version was really just plant crops, milk cows, collect eggs, sleep, repeat. It was fun for a while. My advice: get cows when you can. The milk is definitely valuable. If you like Harvest Moon you would like Animal Crossing, especially the Nintendo DS version.

I actually wrote quite a bit on it on my site (distractions page) including a recipe list. It’s fun, but not my favorite HM.

I’m the biggest fan of Harvest Moon. I don’t think I could love you more right now. If you need any tips, it might be a good step to check out Gamefaqs.com. If you like A Wonderful Life, you should check out the others; except Save the Homeland. Save the Homeland was a disaster.

I think that the show is Green Acres…or, it is one of those types of shows…
