Are You Satisfied?

Hah.. that was the question 1and1 asked me via e-mail this morning — because I sent a support request in they wanted me to tell them how great they are. I didn’t, for the first time ever… and my problem STILL ISN’T BLOODY SOLVED. :| So much for a special offer! If they don’t fix up my domain names I won’t be using them again, which is a shame because they’ve been great up until now.

I need a sofa. The high ceilings make the front room echoooo-ooo-oo. At least some of my geeky books are up on the bookcase now, making it a proper techy couple flat. w00t.

Right, time to stop mooching off Karl’s mum’s connection and get some more of our crap packed away…

ETA: forgot to mention, there’s a slight bug in the latest version of BellaBuffs for those who choose not to use a favourite field (it doesn’t check if it’s blank before checking what’s in it causing an invalid favourite error). Oh, did I tell you guys that CodeGrrl and tutorialtastic have teamed up? Well, in as much as that you can now get official support on TT scipts, snippets and tutorials over at the CodeGrrl forums. Will help take a load off my shoulders..

Edit (Oct 25th): Got my 1and1 invoice charging me at the special rate today. Now, see, how hard would it have been to simply confirm two weeks ago that I would be charged at that rate? Another great company let down by shite Billing support.

    Internet companies eh? Whenever I send a question to my host I get a reply a week or so later saying ‘We have forwarded your message to the support department’. I then check my sent items, and sure enought the address I sent my question to was support@enterwebhostnanehere.com. And then few weeks later they final get off theuir arses and send me a lunk to their FAQ, still avoiding my question. Incompitence.

    I’m glad to hear that tutorialtastic now has its own forum at CodeGrrl! Sounds like it’d be a great convenience to both you and the users. Thanks for keeping Bellabuffs updated! I’ll wait for your official fix, since you’ll be updating soon anyway. :) Out of curiosity, have you still been working on the collective version? Not rushing in the least, but was just wondering if you were still accepting feature suggestions. Though come to think of it, my personal suggestions are so generic that I think you’d have already thought of them.

    1and1 seems to have a great timing when it comes to asking questions about their support. I suppose instead of ignoring it you could tell them how much they lack, but on the other hand, your problem isn’t solved yet might be better to wait ;)

    Ah, high ceilings. I’d actually love to have a spacious place like that for myself. I’m not claustrophobic or anything, but I do have this huge personal space requirement that only a few may step into. A huge space would help me a lot on that area. :D

    @Renee: I can’t call them though, which is an arse. My new apartment doesn’t have a landline in yet for a ‘normal’ phone and because the building was built in the 1800s it’s lead-lined, so there’s no chance of a cell phone signal. It’s taking the piss slightly. >:(

    I hope that they will sort out your domain names asap – everyone is reading your blog – if you hate someone or something it seems that everyone is – must be nice having your arse kissed all the time. I hope you find yourself a nice sofa – what kind of sofa are you dreaming about? A chesterfield? or something more modern?

    One of my past webhosts had practically become an expert of deviating from my questions and sending responses that are completely unrelated. That, plus several downtimes and crashes, I finally left that host. Luckily, my current one is pretty good. :P
