Oh My Goodness!

On my way into Shrewsbury today I saw something quite shocking in someone’s window: a flashing snowman-shaped Christmas decoration.

I don’t think the words “Oh My Goodness” have ever been more appropriate.

That’s really strange… Perhaps they just haven’t taken them down from last Christmas?

Perhaps they just like Christmas? Or perhaps they have very small children who begged and begged and begged and begged and begged and begged and begged to have the Christmas decorations put up four months in advance? ;) Anyway Jem, I’m just commenting to let you know there is a small bug in Bellabook. There seems to be a little hiccup in the coding that puts a space before the URL, thus scrambling the code and making the link styling show up on the entry text in Internet Explorer. How would I fix this?

Lots of people leave their Christmas lights up all year long but I’ve never seen anything other than that.

Some people leave their Christmas decorations (lights, icicles) up all year. Two families in my neighborhood do-that I know of. I guess it is less hassle.

I hate it when people leave their Christmas decorations up all year long. My aunt once left her little light-up deer in her front yard until October. It would’ve stayed up longer if my brother hadn’t knocked it down and stuck it in her garage.

hehe.. lazy people. There’s a store near my place that has the tinsel around the door since christmas… It was really funny seeing it during July at a temperature of 30+ degrees… and wondering if it’ll still be up on Christmas… that very same tinsel I mean :P

Dear lazy decorators next door, Your Christmas light display was nice. For about 4 months. It’s August. TAKE IT DOWN. Sincerely, Claire, who is really tired of those ugly red and green lights.

My GOD. And it’s only August. I mean, they should at least give us the mercy of waiting until September, like they do in the Philippines.

Wow, how lazy can people be? I know in Maine they’re considering laws where if you have Christmas decorations up past a certain date (I think the proposed date is January 15th) then you get fined for every day they’re up after that.

really? Interesting… here (Romania), the only thing happening is my girl classmates getting outraged and furiously whispering about bad luck if you listen to christmas carrols if it’s not christmas time.

Yeah, once a friend of mine told me it was bad luck to sing Christmas carols before Christmas when I started singing “Jingle Bells, Batman Smells”. O.o JINGLE BELLS, BATMAN SMELLS, ROBIN LAID AN EGG. THE BAT-MOBILE LOST A WHEEL AND JOKER GOT AWAY. Or something like that.

I live next door to a complete tosser who has thousands of Christmas lights. He started to put them up two weeks ago (15/10/06) and they will stay up until about march, at that point he takes some down but leaves the rest as a constant eye sore. Im all for Christmas but when its it turns into a tacky display competition, enough is enough I believe you should be prosecuted for putting up decorations before the 1st of December and again if they are not completely down by the 10th of January
