Fair Review Project
Back when the reviewing website ReviewMe first came out I debated with myself whether reviewing for these guys was any different to blogstitution — i.e. pay per posts and sites of that ilk. I never did make my mind up but decided that I didn’t care because I wasn’t going to take part anyway.
However, now the Fair Review Project has been released and the first thing I thought of was that entry on reviewing for cash. Except that’s not what this project is about. Rhys has created this directory-cum-review site which encourages potential members to review current members to get their site listed, with guidelines that enables everyone to give a little bit of link love juice.
It’s like a tween-free version of YourSite.nu: without the “omg u must rtn reviews!!!” and incessant self-pluggage. I think the fact that you have to review people via your blog will also retain a certain quality factor. Personally — while the layout could do with some web 2.0 magic — I reckon it’s a good idea and I’ve already signed-up. I look forward to seeing any reviews of Jemjabella that come out of it, and I hope to review a few blogs in the directory over time just to get things going.
