Waiting for my spuds to roast before CSI Miami…

You know it’s funny, I was contemplating taking part in the NaBloPoMo again this year, and yet here I am barely able to update once a week, let alone once a frickin’ day!

It’s not necessarily for any set reason; work has slowed down a little — at least enough for my keyboard to stop melting under the strain — and my body gave me a little breather from its incessant bleeding… just long enough to remind me that yes, I do have a purpose in life other than to menstruate.

The cats seem to think that days are for sleeping and nights for playing at the moment, and while I do have some lovely pictures of them (and my garden!) I just cannot be arsed to plug in the camera and load them on to my laptop. Much is the same for everything else recently… I have scripts to finish off, with NinjaLinks creeping ever closer to its first test release, and q*bee projects; my own site is almost dangerously broken in places.

My Dad rang me a couple of nights ago, which makes a change as the only time I normally hear from him is when someone has nagged him into coming back into the country. Don’t get me wrong, I’m always grateful to hear from my Dad, but it says something when your first thoughts are “who’s died?” / “what’s wrong?” / “what does he need?”.

Time off work is pending, on the condition that The Big Project that I spent most of last month working on goes off without a hitch. Of course it won’t, because that’s life. I try, nonetheless, to stay positive in the face of shitty luck :P

I am happy, despite the awfully negative tone this entry seems to have taken, but worn out at the moment. Heat/being female taking its toll. However, I can smell my dinner so I’ll take this as my prompt to bugger off and leave you to tell me all about your August so far…

Edit: Oh bloody hell! Shows how out of it I am: CSI Miami is not on until tomorrow. o.O

  1. I’m sure that things will slow down (as by the looks of things are already starting to?) and you can finish off your things and have some time to relax for yourself. I suppose the cats have got into the routine that you are at work during the day and at home at night, so why not sleep when you are not there and be there to play when you are? ;)

  2. CSI: Miami? o_O Oh dear, Jemmie… oh dear deary me. :(

  3. My mum fancies Heratio. :(

  4. Hope you get to have some much-needed time off, you deserve it.

  5. I’m of the persuasion that the original CSI is better, but Miami is definitely better than CSI: New York.

  6. Well, I think both CSI Miami and CSI New York suck big ass, but I watch the first one when I catch it. Can’t anybody tell ginger lousy Caruso he should speak faster and stop playing handsome when he’s not?

  7. CSI? *scampers off to watch on her friend’s TV since her parents refuse to buy cable* What fun.

  8. Hm, perhaps I should do that. I haven’t updated in a while, just because I have been lazy and there’s nothing “special” to talk about, but why should I let that stop me from posting?

  9. CSI? What? That’s what I watch when I’m feeling desperate.

I’m sure The Big Project will go off smoother than you seem to think it will. You’re right, though, life doesn’t always go off without a hitch, so things obviously won’t be problemless. At least you’re happy despite the general negativity of this post. That’s the important thing.

  10. My August thus far? Hmmm, Let me think….Stress, stress, more stress, rain more rain and yet more rain. Do I format today? Or shall I leave it til I get my computer back off your brother? On a more positive note, I am glad that things are slightly better Jem. I think CSI rocks, and will happily spank anyone that dares to disagree…Amazed your dad found out how telephones work…..Looking forwards to the pics of cats and garden. :)

  11. For the life of me, I still can’t figure out why people like Miami better then the original.

And my August so far? Filled with therapy and design blockage while I have wonderful ideas. And I’m getting the hang of the Photo of the Day project that I am doing for myself.

  12. Count me in for testing NinjaLinks- I’ve got a project I’ll need a good link directory script for. :)
