Baby Isabel is Home
Isabel was born at 10:32 on November 14th weighing 7lbs 11oz. We came home last night, and she’s settling in nicely.
Anyway, I just wanted to write a quick post to say thank you for the massive response to her arrival. The cards, e-mails, facebook messages, tweets… it’s overwhelming! I’m still going through things in between feeds, cuddles and snoozing so please don’t think I’m ignoring you if I don’t get back to you all straight away. Love to you all, you guys rock :)

This post is over 6 months old. This means that, despite my best intentions, it may no longer be accurate. Age, motherhood, experience, loss... these things have all changed me from when this blog was started back in the heady (ha) days of my youth.
As much as I would like to go back and edit 10 years of archives to provide an insight into the 'me' of now — to update coding snippets and revise website advice — it would probably take years to do so (by which point I'd have to start again!) This would defeat the point of keeping these archives anyway.
Please take these posts for what they are: a brief look into my past, my history, my journey.

I’m so happy for you! :D I checked Twitter multiple times that night even though I should have been asleep, because I was so excited. When you first tweeted that you were on your way to the hospital, I was thisclose to actually squealing out loud.

I’m struggling to work out how I completely missed this news despite following both you and Aisling (who apparently tweeted more about Isabel’s birth than anyone else!) on Twitter and having your blog on my feed reader for THIS LONG! I need to pay more attention.
Anywho, congratulations! I adore the name Isabel as it’s also the name of my paternal grandmother, who was an amazing lady! Excellent choice.

Congratulations Jem. Yes, I’m actually commenting. This is the first time I’ve visited your site in a while. I want to apologize. Even though it’s been only a few months, I’ve had time to think about how immature I was being. I don’t expect you to reply, or even think twice about this message, I just want to let you know I’ve put on my big girl panties, and I want to put the past behind us, even if you already have. :)
I guess I kinda want to make it official.
It’s scary to ask you to believe me when I say I -have- done a lot of maturing since the last time we talked. Only because it’s scary for myself to think that I’ve matured as much as I have in such a short time. But I want to let you know that I admire you for putting up with my crap and not even blowing up the slightest bit.
