WordPress Themes?
Now that I’m back in WordPress it would be much easier for me to write and release some freebie WordPress themes.
Good idea/bad idea?
Addenendum: I have been playing with the WP-Supercache plugin, which has the unfortunate side effect of breaking the themeswitcher. Although this has been turned off and I’ve emptied the cache, some of you may experience problems still. If a hard refresh (CTRL + F5 in Windows) doesn’t fix it, please let me know including details on your browser, and what theme you’re trying to use.

GOOD.

Response posted: April 26th, 2008 at 2:16 pmIf you have the time for it, I say good. There are many people who like free themes because they don’t understand the working of Wordpress.
Response posted: April 26th, 2008 at 2:16 pmYes, not a bad idea at all. I’d also like to see some plugins if you get the time.
Response posted: April 26th, 2008 at 2:41 pmGood :).

Oh sure, it’s not like you don’t already have enough free stuff and e-drama.
Good idea.
By the way, I’m not sure if it’s just me, but something is wrong with your theme-switcher. Whatever theme I change it too, it stays on the blue and black one, until I click on one of the first two links to your posts. The first post changes to the cloudy one. The second post changes to the mint chocolate one. Everything else seems to be the blue one. I really have no idea.
Response posted: April 26th, 2008 at 4:39 pmYes, definitely!

Response posted: April 26th, 2008 at 7:09 pmHmmm. I will say……………………………………………good.
Though I wrote my own this week and released it, and I haven’t had any luck releasing it anywhere. Anybody got any tips?
Response posted: April 26th, 2008 at 8:17 pmDarn right
I share Josh’s problem with the themes.
Thumbs up, I guess.

Not having any problems like Josh or TWD with the themes, though.
Response posted: April 27th, 2008 at 12:39 amAn amazing idea!
Response posted: April 27th, 2008 at 3:44 amI would use. Since I know that your themes are superior to a lot of other ones out there. As for suggestions, why not take some of your photos and use them as a base?
Response posted: April 27th, 2008 at 4:00 amYes! Good!
Or just put them on your styleswitcher or something?
Response posted: April 27th, 2008 at 9:39 amMaybe you could adapt your other old themes for WP too?
Go for it!
Response posted: April 27th, 2008 at 2:38 pmSure.
Response posted: April 27th, 2008 at 2:46 pmI gave up on WordPress because I hate how the themes are set up- 10+ different files for each one, and since I’m not a PHP Ninja like you, Jem, I don’t get it. I’d use free themes, but I hate using layouts that aren’t mine.
That would be fantastic! I could never figure out those WP themes.
Response posted: April 27th, 2008 at 3:17 pmI reckon it’s a fabulous idea.
Response posted: April 27th, 2008 at 5:09 pmGo for it!

Like any of us are going to come on here, and go “NOOO!!! JEM!!! DON’T MAKE THEMES BECAUSE YOUR SKILLS SUCK SO MUCH AND IF YOU MAKE THEMES I WILL ATTACK YOU IN THE ROAD! I WILL THROW DEAD FISH AT YOUR HEAD!!!”
That would be silly.

Response posted: April 28th, 2008 at 5:41 pmI believe she’s asking how she changes the colour of her entire comment with the highlight author WordPress plugin, as she currently only has the text colour set differently.
