Small Site Updates

Firecracker; RCT2After discussing RollerCoaster Tycoon earlier this month I went ahead and added a page for both 1 and 2, both with little tidbits on, as well as links to the demos for those of you who’ve never played before. I even bought a new copy of RCT2, which I’d forgotten to mention. It comes with the Wacky Worlds and Time Twister extensions for that extra bit of fun (that almost sounded like a bloody advert).

There’s also a new geek t-shirt up: “User Error”. Since reaching page 1 on Google (.co.uk) for the term “geek t-shirts” I’ve actually had a couple of free t-shirt offers from various stores “if I review their website”. I’d go for it if I didn’t have so much other work/script/site crap to do.. [insert other excuses here]. I’ve also just noticed that Gamestation have started selling their t-shirts online, so my collection of gamer t-shirts is likely to expand in due course… ;) (Edit: whoa! I’m actually listed higher than Play.com, J!NX and syswear for geek t-shirts! Holy moly.)

Finally (a little late, probably) there’s the style override ‘tool’. It’s not done (see above for lame excuses) but if anyone has any colour requests, leave the rough hex value and I might eventually get ’round to obliging. Not promising anything, mind.

That’s pretty awesome that you’ve gotten requests for free t-shirts if you do some reviews. It’s kind of tempting to do the same thing (since I’ve got my own little collection as well) and bump you from google.com’s listing ;) I know for a fact you’re one of the first rew rankings, since I had googled for a geek t-shirt a few months ago ^_~

I played the demo of roller coaster tycoon which was a lot of fun, but I don’t really have time for video games anymore. And I usually get frustrated at some point anyway ^^

The problem with Rollercoaster Tycoon for me was I could never figure out how to properly build the rollercoasters. I either had a hell of a time trying to fits the pieces together where it looked fun but was still within my budget OR building ones that killed people! And then when they killed people I couldn’t figure out what was wrong. Clearly I need to stick with my brainless PS2 games. Hee.

Hello Jem. I recently discovered that you own tutorialtastic…. haha, I’m a dork. Love your site! Love your tutorials. I’d say love you… but that might be wierd. I must say, one day I might acually have a useful site, thanks to you. Oh. GREEN! My favorite!

I like the style switcher (or should I call it style override tool?) Those T-shirt for review offers are pretty cool, if only you had more time :-/!

green for me!!! Though I don’t even particularly like the color. Also, I suppose this is what you mean by not complete yet, but can’t you make the header the same? I’m not good at explaining this, but on the default theme, the header image behind the site title actually has a pattern, with some squares I believe, not juts plain black. Could you do that for the others as well?

I have some theme park all-in-one cheap-o. I liked playing RCT when I had it, but I don’t anymore. As for the style override, I would probably like #3b035f, #03535f, #d86f08, or #fffc0b. Not together, of course.

Ha, nice…I would’ve taken the offer anyhow and lost sleep. Geek t-shirts rule! I’d wear them all the time if I had a credit card.

@Hillarie: What? Seizures not your thing? ;P I like those colors too, particularly the teal. But the first and third colors are a good combo — Clemson Univ. colors (I just got accepted yesterday :D!)

I stumbled across your style overrides, and I have to say I still love the default the most. And oooh! RCT1 goodies! Yay and thank you!

Man, I used to be obsessed with RC Tycoon! I miss those days. Maybe I’ll break it out and install it again. I just have the first version though. Is the 2nd one worth it? I mean, is it THAT much better than the original?
