It’s Not Dead

I just wanted to make a quick post to point out the fact that, 2 days on, my blog isn’t dead. In fact, with more than double the normal page views (I’m not sure if that’s me testing things, you guys being nosy or the new structure working as planned) it’s coping remarkably well. No max_connection errors yet!

Please continue to bear with me while I get the remainder of the content up (the scripts is all, I think) and the old themes. After that you can all go nuts and tell me how many errors you find! :D

I love the new structure and everything. It seems well thought out and it definitely flows better as now I can get to some of the blog entries that I like (PHP, security, etc) top the list.

Anyway, I was wondering, do you think your database connection problems has anything to do with http://www.site5.com/support/rup.php under Resource Usage > Database Restrictions? I was wondering because I’m thinking of getting Site5 hosting myself.

Even when it was your own coded CMS, did you still have categories? Or did you have to go and add them all with Wordpress? I’ve never seen (/noticed) them until now!

I like the new commenting, looks good!

@Daniel: I answered this via email but I’ll post it here too for anyone else interested… there’s nothing wrong with Site5s resource usage policy as such, they offer identical functionality to other large shared hosting providers. The problems lay entirely with my dodgy code ;)
