I am dull
You know, I’ve never been a particularly interesting person. I don’t have many hobbies, and pre-Izz all I did at home and work was code. Yet, I somehow managed to spin that into something worth reading; something to amuse/entertain/annoy [delete as appropriate] most of you. Now all I manage to do is waffle on about the mundanities (I’m sure that’s a word but Firefox says otherwise) of parenthood and child rearing… poo, snot, boobs (mine, obviously).
I wonder if this lasts forever or just as long as I’m a “SAHM” (shit ass ho motherfucker, apparently). If that’s the case, you’re all buggered until November. Oops.

I don’t think you’re dull.
Even in the realm of child rearing you’re feisty and head strong and I love it.
Also, what happens in Nov??

I’d rather read blogs that actually have life & entertainment to them rather than all code (which is what like 90% of all blogs are..). Diversity is the best IMO and lets us remember that we are still human and do have emotions (which are not made up of code)

I’m sure I’ve previously suggested ‘nappy awards’ as an obvious branching off from ‘pants awards’…. and there must be plenty of shitty baby/parenting websites out there, hehe

Stop being depressing. You’re only as dull as you believe yourself to be, so start being positive and self-lovey.

Work, boooo! If I were you, I’d be soaking up every moment of your new life (*your* new life, and your new *life*!) as well. We can wait for more interesting posts! ;D

We love you anyways Jem.

As with any major change in your life, I think it just takes more of an effort to "stay interesting" than it did before. That sounds a little insulting, as I don’t think you’re dull, but we all go through trying to make our entries entertaining, relevant and interesting. It’s tough even when you aren’t responsible for another human life.

Strange though it may seem, every single one of us that stops working for a while to have a baby experiences the exact same feelings that you are going through now. This "OMG I am no longer a useful person to society and I’m that dull and boring I am invisible" feeling is perfectly normal, hormones play a big part, although the actual birthing process may seem a long long way back now your body will still be settling down after having Izz. Breastfeeding also messes things about …not just hormonally but emotionally too.
You ARE still Jem, everything funny and factual that goes to make you up is still in there, it’s just taking a break while you form those all important first months for Izz and yes, your coding skills may be somewhat rusty when you do first go back to work but it is all still in there and it’s just a case of adjusting to it all. Like riding a bike, or learning how to swim really. What was there, still is ;) -
I rather enjoy your blog more now than before. Plus, I have a four month old, so I do not mind all the baby talk…

Personally I still enjoy flicking onto your blog whenever I’m bored at work. No idea how I found it but good to read for five minutes as always has something to make me laugh.

Now that Mason is six years old, I really long for the days when he was a baby and my whole life was focused around him. It’s a stupid cliche but you really will miss these days. You’ll be able to do anything you want because Izzy will be like, "MUM leave me alone, I can do it myself!!!" Or when she hits that stage where you do something she doesn’t like and she yells, "YOU AREN’T MY BEST FRIEND ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!".. and runs crying into her room. Mason already started that. <_< that being said i really want to see some more pants… miss the= pants! xd

You might find yourself dull in the beginning of motherhood when you usually can only find the time between sleep, eat and elbow deep in changing dirty diapers. It will get better….trust me. Angel is 7, and despite my divorce, I am doing things that I have always wanted. That and I can take him places that I could not when he was a wee babe.
