My New Home and Stuff

Tada! I'm not dead :D Indeed not, I'm afraid. Simply distracted by my new home. Karl and I received the keys — and met the landlord, thoroughly nice chappie — on Friday. We've been cleaning, sweeping, decorating and generally ogling. I am bloody knackered, my arms are about ready to drop off, and I've not eaten or slept properly all weekend. Nonetheless, I am still excited and can't wait to finish the general preparations so that we can start moving over our furniture.

My most heartfelt thanks to my Mum and Lou who readily brought essential supplies on (coffee, biscuits, etc) and who've given us brand new furniture... all of which I assembled, dis-assembled when I realised I'd done it backwards and then re-assembled. Thank you also to my little sister, who helped with some painting yesterday.

Thank you to those who've been playing with BellaBuzz and sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I made some untested changes late last week and uploaded them without warning you guys, which has likely broken some things. Bear with my while I get my bearings, answer my 24365845645645 e-mails and generally reacquaint myself with this thing called the Internet :)

I will update with pictures and more details of the new house as and when.. well, when I'm not busy!

    Now the real fun begins. Having just moved recently (and still in the process of moving three months later) I can say it (the actual process of moving) is not fun and is more of a pain in the ass than anything. A word of advice: get a moving truck! My parents thought they could save a few bucks by doing "multiple trips" instead of renting a truck, because the new house was so close, but it ended up being a pain in the ass and took 8X as much time (Big Suprise!). Buut I digress, congratulations on the new house and have fun moving :D.

    Trucks will not be needed..all bar a few things I can move in the Astra..:) Give us 2 weeks tops, and we'll be in. We don't hang about. No phone there yet, so no internet..

    I've been checking back since Friday anxiously awaiting this post! Congrats on the new place and I hope things from here on go smoothly. I know how stressful it can be (my older sister has moved house about four times (!!!)) and it can be such a pain although extremely exciting at the same time. Either way don't worry too much about irregular blogging and such like as it's extremely understandable - just make sure to get the phone/internet sorted asap, eh? Please? ;) And regarding BellaBuzz I'll reinstall any newer version/s if you want/need as I love helping people (hah! Never thought I'd say that). /mammoth comment

    Congrats on your new place. I find moving into something new quite exciting. It normally takes a couple of months until I'm furnished the way I like it, but that's normal. I'll try your FAQ-script sometime.

    Aww, congrats on the house! It sounds like a blast, even if it's tiring. As for furniture being assembled backwards... it sounds like me with Ikea-brand furniture. They're company is based out of (I think?) Sweden and so the assembly instructions are step by step illustrations. There are no words at all. My friend and I put together an entire dining room set from Ikea once, and whilst putting together the 4 chairs, realized we put the bottom crossbars on backwards, and had to disassemble all of the chairs to fix them.

    That's awesome that you got a house! I can't wait till cory and I get a house. It really sucks cause we are living with my parents right now. :/ Good luck with being re acuantited with the internet. lol.
