Sod’s Law
Pretty much every Friday, Karl’s mum pops in to see us on her way back from work. Because Karl and I both work all week, we tend to ‘save up’ housework for the weekend. This means that when she gets here, it’s normally an absolute tip… unwashed cups and plates stacked on the side, cat toys all over the place, clothes that need washing.
I do have some dignity and pride, and so today I left my mum’s a bit earlier to get back and do a bit of a tidy up before Karl’s mum got here. (To try and convince her that we’re not both pigs.) Done the washing up, tidied up snotty tissues and picked up the cat stuff.
Guess who’s away this weekend and thus wasn’t coming ’round anyway?
Warning
This post is over 6 months old. This means that, despite my best intentions, it may no longer be accurate. Age, motherhood, experience, loss... these things have all changed me from when this blog was started back in the heady (ha) days of my youth.
As much as I would like to go back and edit 10 years of archives to provide an insight into the 'me' of now — to update coding snippets and revise website advice — it would probably take years to do so (by which point I'd have to start again!) This would defeat the point of keeping these archives anyway.
Please take these posts for what they are: a brief look into my past, my history, my journey.

Just think – this now means you have more time to relax this weekend. So it is a blessing in disguise really.

That is always how it works out, especially when you go out of your way to get said task done as fast as possible. Although, I agree with Ben… At least it's done, and now you can sit around watching soap operas with a bowl of ice cream resting on your belly :P

HAHA you need a sign that says, "Cleaned my house yesterday – too bad you missed it!"
-
I agree w/ Ben too! Less to worry about, more time to enjoy :)

I just moved into my own place for the first time so I have been keeping up with the housework (what little there is – it's a small place) every day so far. I'm sure that won't last. We don't get much company besides a couple of my friends once in a while.

I hate when that happens. Or you find out in the process of cleaning that the person won't be coming.
I have to agree with Ben though. ;)

Awww… that's so cute and funny, though she missed it. I wonder what you'll do next week when the same time comes around again…

Typical, eh? Happens to me too.

LOL that's so me… only I have far less warning. My dad/mom usually just call me with "I'll be there in 5, you're home, right?".
Eh, at least it's clean now? ;)

Annoying but look on the bright side, now it's all done you won't have to worry about it over the weekend. Relax, spend time together and have fun :)

Ohh! That sucks. I hate when that happens. It happened to me so many times before. One of my mom or dad's friends say they are coming over and the house is a mess. So, we clean up like crazy for hours, until we get a phone call an hour before they come, saying they can't come because of whatever reason. Well, on the bright side, at least you can enjoy your weekend in peace :)

Spend the weekend in bed stroking the cats & pampering yourself. *hush Karl you already had "YOUR" fun*
Oh BTW, when you have a moment pop over to my site & let me know if you like any of the baby designs I have shown on the current post, please. If you don't that is fine, I will just go looking again, lol. Thanks.

LOL! Go figure. Don't worry though, it usually works that way for me, too. XD

HAHA that sucks. But at least your place is clean now :)
