BellaBlocks Beta etc

Just a minor update… the beta of BellaBlocks went out tonight for some private beta testing.

Oh, and Rise of Nations worked in Wine but was dead slow. Gave up in the end, trying a VM.

Ubuntu is pissing me off again. I swear I’m not going to let this bloody operating system win. Grr. XFCE won’t let me edit the menus to remove crap I’ve actually uninstalled, even after having tried various suggestions on the ‘net. Likewise, I still haven’t figured out how to get some sort of “Archive this” functionality on right click. Might have to go back to Gnome, as both of these things work there. :(

Warning

This post is over 6 months old. This means that, despite my best intentions, it may no longer be accurate. Age, motherhood, experience, loss... these things have all changed me from when this blog was started back in the heady (ha) days of my youth.

As much as I would like to go back and edit 10 years of archives to provide an insight into the 'me' of now — to update coding snippets and revise website advice — it would probably take years to do so (by which point I'd have to start again!) This would defeat the point of keeping these archives anyway.

Please take these posts for what they are: a brief look into my past, my history, my journey.

    THIS is precisely why I don’t really rejoice at the idea of switching OS, sure it’s geekier, and all the hype… unless of course your life’s mightily boring and you need to add more stress and annoyance to it :P
