Small Personal Celebration
I managed to rip my favourite pair of trousers on the back of my bicycle pedal (lol, I wrote peddle) a couple of weeks ago, so much so that they only thing they’ll be good for now is turning into scruffy lounge-about-the-house shorts.
I went to buy a new pair yesterday, but the closest match I could find weren’t available in my normal size. They only had them in a size smaller, or two sizes bigger. I didn’t have time to try the trousers on because I had a bus to catch (which I missed anyway, but we won’t get in to that) so I bought the smaller pair figuring I could return them next week because they undoubtedly wouldn’t fit.
Turns out that walking to and from work has done me good, and the smaller size fits me perfectly. I almost feel like I should eat a big slab of cake to celebrate :P
(On an unrelated note, the super cache plugin seems to be interfering with my feed; please bear with me while I get everything sorted.)
Warning
This post is over 6 months old. This means that, despite my best intentions, it may no longer be accurate. Age, motherhood, experience, loss... these things have all changed me from when this blog was started back in the heady (ha) days of my youth.
As much as I would like to go back and edit 10 years of archives to provide an insight into the 'me' of now — to update coding snippets and revise website advice — it would probably take years to do so (by which point I'd have to start again!) This would defeat the point of keeping these archives anyway.
Please take these posts for what they are: a brief look into my past, my history, my journey.

Woot! Go Jem! I am jealous of you now that you are all buff. :P

If you eat that big slab of cake, you won’t be able to fit the smaller size anymore. :P What to do, what to do…
-
YAY for cake! You really should make some. :) My feed only shows this one post under it, if that’s of any help? XD

I’m jealous… :P

Nice one, Jem! :) If only I could have a job to walk to so I can lose my masses of flab. XD

*claps* Go JEM! Indeed losing weight and fitting into smaller clothes is a brilliant feeling (I had it while in Greece – felt amazing). :D

Woo hoo! Congrats. It’s always so weird when you put on a smaller pair of pants and they fit, and you didn’t realize your old ones were too big.
I doubt *one* slice of cake will do that much damage. Could it?

mmm, cake

Good for you Jem! I still don’t think you need to worry about your weight, you look just fine to me.

Yay for smaller pants! I’ve been doing so much trekking across my campus… 15 minutes walks every 50 minutes. I’ve been talking about how I need to get back to the gym and do some running or something to get my legs in shape, and then I looked at them in the mirror and realized all this walking up-hill has done me good!

Congratulations! I also had a surprise while shopping recently :)

Denim usually stretches after several washes. :P So I’d guess that you may still be able to fit into those jeans after a big slab of cake!
Speaking of which, I am still hunting around for a new pair of dark grey jeans especially since my my similar pair has sprung a hole out of nowhere recently. :( (Plus, I spilled curry on it, so there’s a big fat yellow patch now.)

Is it just me who’s having trouble imagining you on a bicycle?
-
Ohhh..that’s cheeky..! I spent a good few days rebuilding both bikes!
-
Ugh, when I was in middle school, the fad was to wear big wide-leg pants. Try riding a bike with *those* on. They were always getting caught in the gears.
-
Oh good for you!
Now I really hope I could make the same kind of celebration. :(

Whoo! Good for you, Jem! :)

Woo! Conbobulations!
“the super cache plugin seems to be interfering with my feed” is that why you lost weight? lol…

Oh no! That is truly unfortunate. I wish a favourite pair of pants/jeans lasted forever. My wonderful pair just ended up being overwashed so I can’t wear them in fear of them falling apart.
Lucky you for finding a suitable replacement! It’s hard to find a pair that will rival your worn and washed favourite.

Awesome blossom! I love little surprises like that.
