Latest rev.iew.me Figures

182 users and counting, and that’s despite ys.nu stealing some of my ideas… (yes, I’ll probably be talking about this for weeks)

Warning

This post is over 6 months old. This means that, despite my best intentions, it may no longer be accurate. Age, motherhood, experience, loss... these things have all changed me from when this blog was started back in the heady (ha) days of my youth.

As much as I would like to go back and edit 10 years of archives to provide an insight into the 'me' of now — to update coding snippets and revise website advice — it would probably take years to do so (by which point I'd have to start again!) This would defeat the point of keeping these archives anyway.

Please take these posts for what they are: a brief look into my past, my history, my journey.

What are the stolen ideas exactly? I’m not a member (or ex-member) of YS.nu and I don’t visit it either. Fill a girl in?

@Catherine: No ads, user banners and timestamps on posts/reviews. That’s all I know of.

    You can win. :D

And why aren’t these in your sidebar anymore? I liked them there.

Another addition seems to be similar to her points system; In order to add your site, you have to review 3 sites.

Wasn’t that review three sites thing already in place though? Someone mentioned it earlier.

Left padding and comment link please… for the asides, I mean.
What did ys.nu steal? I thought that the James guy mostly implemented stuff that has been requested on the forums for quite a bit…

You totally have to talk about what YS took. I didn’t even know that site was still being maintained! Even if they implement some kind of point system (I’m guessing that’s what they lifted from Rev.iew.me) they’re still not going to be as good because of the crap-ass layout (last time I checked) and I trust you more as an administrator of this sort of thing.

    Hi!
I’ve been looking, but they dont do things professionally, even couldn’t find a rss feed, wich might be needed, so i dont think they are going to be good.

And I agree the layout is very poor.

Count me in as dying to know what YS.nu stole and what your thoughts are about it.

You should probably wage war with this fool, as I think thieving ideas is just as bad as thieving graphics. This idiot needs to be shut down and I am ALL FOR A REVOLUTION! ARGH James gets my blood BOILING!!!!

He didn’t really “steal” Meggan, Vera’s right in that they’re just ideas that were suggested to him. I just did them first :p

:( Well I never joined ys.nu because of all the bad comments about it. I decided to join rev.iew.me as I found out you were the owner & you would keep it active & because I wanted to have a go a reviewing other sites that I haven’t heard of before.
