I Passed My JavaScript Module

I finally remembered to check the results for the second module of my course today; I received another Grade 2 pass as per the first module. Given my self-confessed loathing of JavaScript I didn’t even expect to get that far.

I am annoyed though, to be quite honest. I have a weak spot when it comes to regular expressions, and yet managed to work out a few — including one I posted here — for part of the practical, which basically involved implementing client-side checks on a form provided for us. Despite my quiet confidence, I only scraped a “Bare Pass” on that particular section. (Grading scale is: Excellent, Good, Clear Pass, Bare Pass, Bare Fail, Fail)

On the upside, the ‘Overall clarity and presentation of the report’ part — for which I think got a Bare Pass last time (hahaha) — I scored Excellent, so I’m a little pleased I managed to do something right :P

Warning

This post is over 6 months old. This means that, despite my best intentions, it may no longer be accurate. Age, motherhood, experience, loss... these things have all changed me from when this blog was started back in the heady (ha) days of my youth.

As much as I would like to go back and edit 10 years of archives to provide an insight into the 'me' of now — to update coding snippets and revise website advice — it would probably take years to do so (by which point I'd have to start again!) This would defeat the point of keeping these archives anyway.

Please take these posts for what they are: a brief look into my past, my history, my journey.

psst i checked out BBook ~ it works fine (it seems) but deleting entries is really slow; they still appear in the Manage Entries section until you refresh the entries page.

Congrats! It’s always relieving being able to pass a subject you loathe!

That’s great! Though seeing an “Epic Fail” on the grading scale would have been hilarious :)

Pfft! University grading here is a terror in most subjects. If you are able to regurgitate the stuff they tell you word for word, then fine. If not, well let’s hope you don’t fail.

Congrats! As for me, I’m starting to loathe myself considering the amount of JavaScript I make use of… I’m comforting myself with “it’s my boss who made me do it” XP
