I Even Annoy Porn Stars
Rhys posted a couple of months ago about the fact that he shares his name (sort of) with a porn star. I made a passing remark about her hair/boobs, both of which appeared fake. Turns out I was right:
Hi just thought I would give my thoughts, actually my hair and my boobs are fake, however I don’t see what that says.. but ok I understand that you feel the need to put people down to feel better about yourself … I however work very hard to look as good as and compete with the girls 15 years younger than me it is apparently working as you took time to write about me.. so I obviously got your attention ..
This almost reminds me of my post from the other day, and makes me wonder why the world is so vain. When did it become necessary to be a big-bosomed, blonde beauty to get anything in life? Anyway, I can add a porn star to the list of people I’ve offended now, I think. Oops.

This post is over 6 months old. This means that, despite my best intentions, it may no longer be accurate. Age, motherhood, experience, loss... these things have all changed me from when this blog was started back in the heady (ha) days of my youth.
As much as I would like to go back and edit 10 years of archives to provide an insight into the 'me' of now — to update coding snippets and revise website advice — it would probably take years to do so (by which point I'd have to start again!) This would defeat the point of keeping these archives anyway.

Jem is just so mean and offensive. I mean, poor porn star. She’s trying to complete with girls younger than her. Boo hoo hoo. :P It’s ridiculous. Obviously, this lady has a lot of free time or she wouldn’t have taken time to reply to your comment. Guess she isn’t too busy making money these days. Must be all of those younger girls who are taking her customers away and this leaving her with free time to reply to you.

I’ll be honest, and these are my thoughts, that said girl has been nothing but cordial and polite to me after firing back and forth e-mails. But yeah, I had to do a little bit of apologising to my big boobied namesake (I mean, discounting my man boobs, of course) :)

(Un)fortunately, being pretty does help with things… :) Generally speaking, it’s easier for prettier people to do well on job interviews and such. Everyone can’t be smart. :( If you aren’t smart or pretty – what’s left for you to do but to become a porn star with fake boobs and fake hair? XD But, honestly, I don’t know why people take everything you say so personally.

Look at it this way Jem, both your hair and your boobs are natural, no plastic or peroxide to con people with there. I personally detest fakes of any sort, and would much rather meet and know down to earth honest folk without airs and graces over some pumped up painted dolly any day! Having viewed the page in question all I can say is does the phrase “Mutton dressed as lamb” mean anything?

Funny, but she did answer it maturely. You just have one of those personalities I guess… even online. People need to comment on what you say! My only comment is… being blonde and busty doesn’t make it easier, unless you ARE aspiring to be a porn star/glamour model/trophy wife. I’ve got both naturally, and it only causes problems. XP

At the end of the day, she chose her career to be a porn star, and as long as that’s what she wants to do, that’s fine by me. However, in order to be a porn star you do need to make certain ‘improvements’ to your body (nobody is perfect). Since when has any porn star been totally au naturel? Unfortunately, your average guy likes big tits and blonde hair, and that’s a fact (else why would it sell?) You can argue against this to your hearts content but it won’t change anything. Nothing about what she does or who she is (or how unnatural she is, for that matter) should make people think she is a bad, inpolite or even a dishonest or fake person without even taking the time to get to know her – which is the impression I get from a lot of responses here. She’s doing her job, earning her keep, and you can leave her alone now – at least she responded to Jem in a polite manner which is more than what some people can say for themselves ;)

People are vain. Always have been, always will be. It’s not necessary to be big-bosomed and blonde, but if you think about it, it’s evolutionarily necessary to be aesthetically pleasing. On the other hand, I semi-agree with the porn star on the basis of what does it matter if she chooses to augment her breasts and wear wigs? Should gender-confused men be chastised the same way? I often get chastised by people because I wear a lot of makeup. But that’s what I choose to do because *I* like it, and I shouldn’t be subjected to finger-pointing because it’s “vain” or “fake.”
