Creative Advertising
I have to admit that I’m a bit of a sucker for a creative advert. I swear I’m more likely to buy a product if I see an advert that tickles my funny bone than I am if I see an informative or factual one (which is why PPP posts are nothing but shit to me). I memorised the Honda diesel jingle, was fascinated by Cog and now I find myself dribbling over the new Skoda Fabia cake advert.
It’s just a shame that all of these are for cars, and I don’t drive.
Warning
This post is over 6 months old. This means that, despite my best intentions, it may no longer be accurate. Age, motherhood, experience, loss... these things have all changed me from when this blog was started back in the heady (ha) days of my youth.
As much as I would like to go back and edit 10 years of archives to provide an insight into the 'me' of now — to update coding snippets and revise website advice — it would probably take years to do so (by which point I'd have to start again!) This would defeat the point of keeping these archives anyway.
Please take these posts for what they are: a brief look into my past, my history, my journey.

Haha aw. There are some awesome adverts though :P I love singing along to them.

I love that cake car advert, yum yum!

I *love* the Fabia cake advert. I must admit though, I was really disappointed it was an advert for a car and not a bakery because I would have given my first born child (she dribbles a lot but she’s probably worth a fair bit on the black market) for one of their cakes.

To me, it’s animals. There is is mobile phone company that uses monkeys, penguins, flamingos and other cool creatures to sell its phones. My favourite so far is the one where they had pigs flying away on red balloons while playing “99 Luftballoons” in the background.

…I thought this was a PPP post. :|

I love a majority of the national commercials… Except for HeadOn. Those are annoying!

I HATE those commercials. And now that there’s a whole line, you can now endure: “ActivOn, FirstOn, PreferOn and FreedHem” >:( -
Nice one Jem :o) In general I prefer adverts to the real telly……. You see far less of it and they are free!

I love the Skoda one. xD

When I read it I thought you meant the honda advert with the choir mimicking the sound of a car. I would’ve been impressed! I was obsessed with Cog. I have it on DVD! They have an hour long documentary on it (everything they use is from 1 honda, they had to do it in 1 take, and the only thing was changed was the tyres to become counter-balanced) as well as an outtake compilation (one where they go right until the end except the weight misses the key – up until that point I wondered about the “Parental Advisory – Explicit Content” sticker on the front!

I hate commercials and usually just zap away but some are kind of cute and get stuck in your head. I’m not a person who gets affected by commercials a lot though, I don’t buy products I don’t need just because the commercial is nice so I guess I’m a tough market

@Amelie/Amanda.. yes, I understand why linking to some YouTube vids would sound like a PPP post. Not. o.O
It wasn’t the youtube linking, it was the fact that you linked specific brands like PPPers do. :P -
No I didn’t, I linked to youtube videos. If I was linking to brands I’d have linked to their website. Go and do your essay.
Lol, touchy ;P -
nah, this post is far too structured, and has had too much thought put into it to be ppp. ppp post would be more like this: look at this [spammy link]amazing commercial[/spammy link] that I saw the other day whilst watching tv. what a gread ad! I certainly think that [spammy link]X car company[/spammy link] has done a great job here!

I meant the fact that you linked the actual text that IS the brand. When I hovered over them and saw it was a youtube video I knew it couldn’t possibly be a PPP (and the fact that you absolutely hate PPP is obviously another clue :P ). -
The song in the Skoda Fabia ad is stuck in my head now… AAARRRGGGHHH, ’tis soooo annoying when it goes over and over in one’s head.

Sorry for the spammy double-comment, but ‘Skoda’ should be ‘

Yeah, some – although none come into mind at the moment – are interesting in a creative perspective.

Come to Australia! Be merry and imagine little gummy lollies falling around in a domino effect. :) Those ads have me interested.

I can’t help but link my favorite advert of all time, it’s for the Sony Bravia. It’s more an artsy commercial than anything, millions of brightly colored bouncy balls and a pretty song. I’m addicted to it. -tugs you to watch-

The commercial that I am completely in love with right now is the oreo pizza mustache: http://youtube.com/watch?v=YdLH9cdnD5U I can’t watch it without laughing for quite some time. It’s great.
