I Got A Job

You’re now looking at a no-longer-unemployed bum. Yes, still a bum, but now employed. I start Monday — it’s an ICT Technician position at a local school, supporting the computer equipment in the Science, Music and DT departments. It’s part-time flexible hours, but that’s cool because I can either get another part-time job (theoretically) or just waste two days a week fiddling with my website and crocheting more crap. :p

I should buy a McDonalds cheeseburger to celebrate or something.

.

Warning

This post is over 6 months old. This means that, despite my best intentions, it may no longer be accurate. Age, motherhood, experience, loss... these things have all changed me from when this blog was started back in the heady (ha) days of my youth.

As much as I would like to go back and edit 10 years of archives to provide an insight into the 'me' of now — to update coding snippets and revise website advice — it would probably take years to do so (by which point I'd have to start again!) This would defeat the point of keeping these archives anyway.

Please take these posts for what they are: a brief look into my past, my history, my journey.

No idea. As I said.. “It’s part-time flexible hours” so I think I can make up my hours when I want. The nice lady on the phone suggested something like 6.5 hours Monday and Tuesday, and 6 on a Wednesday. Sounds workable!

I would totally go for the cheeseburger if I were you. Is this new job at a high school? Eye contact with students might be a bad thing. o.o You’d get shot or something here. Which is funny, because nobody has guns at our school. (Usually?) Sorry, I’m just exercising my retardedness. :) Congrats on the job!

Jem, working in the same building as /children/? Parents better watch out, don’t want you lifting any kid to auction on e-Bay for a bit of extra change ;) (PS – If anyone who is doing a check on Jem’s background site stuff sees this, I am TOTALLY joking. I swear. Seriously.)

I’m late, I know, but I just wanted to give you my congrats, too. You’re another step further towards world domination! :P Hope the cheeseburger was good, and that it did not give you Mad Cow Disease — ain’t nothin’ worse than going stark raving bonkers on your first day at your new job. (That’s why I have to work from home…)
