FeedBurner
I’ve just added one of those FeedBurner things to my sidebar. I really have no idea what it is/does because I’ve not read the site yet, but it seemed like a good idea at the time. (If you use one of these and know of any advantages or know what it does, please share!) It looks like this:
Oh, and there’s a slightly different layout up, but most of you have noticed that already.
Edit (26th June): I figured out all of the little details about the feedburner thingy last night. Seems like a good way to feed my ego (get it? feed? aha!) so it can stay up for a while. It’s quite interesting seeing how many hits I’m getting to my feed: way more than I anticipated. Shame the subscriber count only updates once a day. :/
Warning
This post is over 6 months old. This means that, despite my best intentions, it may no longer be accurate. Age, motherhood, experience, loss... these things have all changed me from when this blog was started back in the heady (ha) days of my youth.
As much as I would like to go back and edit 10 years of archives to provide an insight into the 'me' of now — to update coding snippets and revise website advice — it would probably take years to do so (by which point I'd have to start again!) This would defeat the point of keeping these archives anyway.
Please take these posts for what they are: a brief look into my past, my history, my journey.

Was the header image always in lowercase? hmm.

it’s just a different way of doing feeds isn’t it?

Hmm… I should read the FeedBurner site, too. I’ve never really spent the time it. “You blog because [your reason here] and FeedBurner can help you do that better.” Okay… I shall continue reading!

I recently went over to this. I only really use it to see how many readers I have (4 – yey!). One thing I did do was edit my .htaccess file so that people who request my old feed were “sent” to the feedburner version (oblivious to any change)…

Woohoo! /me likes the new look. (I tried that Feedburner thing for a while and I still don’t know what it does.)

I think feedburner is a online RSS reader service … thing, right? ^^ I know some podcasts use it for people to subscribe to. I like these blue shades a lot, desaturated blues are awesome. I don’t know about the maroon links, though. :P

It let’s you keep up with how many subscribers you have as well as many other subscriber related stats, e.g., how many joined this month, day, etc.
-
Isn’t it a subscriber counter to let you see how many subscribers you have through feeds. As well as other stats you can look up.

Excuse me while I declare ignorance on the FeedBurner malarky, but I just wanted to say that I very much prefer the header in lower-case – definitely a “keeper” IMHO ;)

I don’t really see the point of the counter but it has a cool name so it works. xD I really hope I’m not the only one who cracked up at the feed ego joke.

Yesterday it was [4 readers] and now it’s [65 readers].

Oh dear…it looks like it’s going down :( I never could work out anything about feeds. Of course, not trying may have something to do with it…
